SPECIAL SURVEILLANCE OPERATION AT IGI STADIUM CONCERT BY VARIOUS TEAMS OF CENTRAL DISTRICT— TWO MOBILE THIEVES NABBED WITHIN HOURS, STOLEN PHONES RECOVERED
• SEVERAL PLAIN CLOTHES SURVEILLANCE TEAMS WERE DEPLOYED AT IGI STADIUM CONCERT TO MONITOR SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY & DETER CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDING PICKPOCKETING.
• TWO MOBILE PHONE THIEVES ARRESTED DURING REAL-TIME COVERT OPERATION.
• STOLEN MOBILE PHONES RECOVERED FROM BOTH ACCUSED.
In a strategic and well-coordinated operation to safeguard public safety during a high-footfall concert at IGI Stadium, the Central District Police deployed a specially tasked surveillance unit in plain clothes. Aware of the increased likelihood of petty crimes in such densely packed environments, these teams were discreetly implanted within the crowd with the specific mission to monitor suspicious behaviour and identify pickpockets or anti-social elements. Two such cases of pickpocket were reported in the incident wherein the complainants reported theft of mobile phones and subsequently registration of FIR vide No. 80067752 & 80067854 both u/s 303(2) BNS at PS IP Estate.
Their alertness led to the immediate swift detection and apprehension of two accused individuals hailing from the locality of Ballimaran, Chandni Chowk — both arrested with stolen mobile phones in their possession.
OPERATION 1:
In the first instance, a lady complainant, resident of Faridabad, reported that her mobile phone was stolen between 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the stadium. A case was registered under e-FIR No. 80067752 at PS IP Estate. Based on intelligence and on-ground tracking, the police apprehended Wasim r/o Gali Sauda Gram, Ballimaran, Chandni Chowk, Delhi. The stolen device was recovered from his possession.
OPERATION 2:
The same night, another lady complainant, a resident of CR Park, filed a complaint about the theft of her phone between 10:20 PM to 11:00 PM at the same venue. Her report was registered under e-FIR No. 80067854, PS IP Estate. Upon swift action and ground coordination, the police arrested Md. Tayyab r/o Ballimaran, Chandni Chowk, Delhi. Her mobile phone was recovered from the possession of accused.

1. Wasim (Age-36) r/o Gali Sauda Gram, Ballimaran
2. Md. Tayyab (Age-33) r/o Ballimaran
RECOVERY:
1. Two stolen mobile phones.
