VIGILANT PATROLLING TEAM OF PS KAMLA MARKET, CENTRAL DISTRICT NABS AN AUTOLIFTER — STOLEN SCOOTY, MOBILE PHONE & A BUTTON ACTUATED KNIFE RECOVERED

•    ONE CRIMINAL/AUTOLIFTER ARRESTED BY TEAM OF PS KAMLA MARKET.
•    ONE BUTTON-ACTUATED KNIFE AND A STOLEN SCOOTY RECOVERED FROM HIS POSSESSION.
•    ONE SUSPICIOUSLY STOLEN MOBILE PHONE RECOVERED & SEIZED.
•    ACCUSED HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN INVOLVED IN THREE CRIMINAL CASES OF SNATCHING & HURT.

With the view, to increase area dominance, multiple patrolling teams were constituted under each police station. The patrolling teams were motivated and briefed to perform patrolling diligently and with full alertness, so as to keep a watch on any suspicious activity in wee hours. The aim of the patrolling is not only the prevention of crime but also the watch on criminals. In such operation, the patrolling team of PS Kamla Market has arrested an autolifter with a stolen scooty and a button actuated knife.

BRIEF OF INCIDENT:

On 18.07.2025, during patrolling duty, HC Ankush Kumar and Ct. Swdwmsa of PS Kamla Market were patrolling in the area. Around Pull Paharganj near Ajmeri Gate Chowk, they observed a suspicious person riding a scooty without a helmet, coming from the Paharganj side. 
On spotting the police personnel, the rider attempted a sudden U-turn, but lost control of the vehicle and fell. The alert patrolling team immediately apprehended him. The rider was identified as Amaan R/o Masjid Wali Gali, JLN Marg, LNJP Colony, Delhi Age: 22 years.

Upon his personal search, one buttondar knife and one mobile phone were recovered from his possession. The ownership details of the scooty were verified and found to be stolen, with a case registered vide eFIR No. 018168/25, dated 03.07.2025, at PS Jama Masjid, Delhi.

Accordingly, a case was registered at PS Kamla Market, vide FIR No. 261/2025, U/s 25/54/59 Arms Act
