DESPERATE SERIAL BURGLARS ARRESTED BYTHE STAFF OF PS MAYUR VIHAR, EAST DISTRICT; STOLEN ITEMS RECOVERED
In a significant breakthrough, the team of PS Mayur Vihar, East District, arrested two habitual offenders involved in a series of burglaries across Trilokpuri and nearby areas.
The accused were apprehended with multiple stolen items, including electronics and mobile phones.
The arrest has helped in cracking several unsolved burglary cases in the locality.
INCIDENT: -
On 12.07.2025, complainant Atul Kumar R/o Trilokpuri, reported a burglary that took place during the night of 11–12 July 2025. He alleged that unknown persons broke open the lock of the internal staircase and stole: Two mobile phones, a wallet containing ₹15,000 cash, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Axis & HDFC ATM cards, 1 Haier LCD TV, 1 Volta Polta Light Speaker. Based on the complaint, FIR No. 313/2025, dated 12.07.2025, under Sections 305/331(4)/317(2) BNS was registered at PS Mayur Vihar, and a focused investigation was initiated.
INVESTIGATION: -
Recognizing the gravity of the offence, a dedicated police team was formed under the supervision of SHO/PS Mayur Vihar, and overall guidance of ACP/Mayur Vihar. The team comprising SI Vishvendra, ASI Manoj Kumar, HC Amit, Ct. Rajeram, and Ct. Gaurav Deshwal initiated a joint human and technical surveillance operation. CCTV footage from surrounding areas was collected and analyzed, while local informers were activated. On 13.07.2025, acting on a credible tip-off, police intercepted a suspect near DDA Park behind, Mayur Vihar Phase-I. The suspect, Yaseen R/o Trilokpuri was found carrying a bag containing a Realme mobile phone and a Haier LCD TV. Shortly afterward, his brother Yameen was also apprehended from the Shashi Garden area with the second stolen mobile phone and light speaker. Both accused confessed to committing the burglary using a metal rod to break in. They disclosed that the cash was spent on narcotics, while the wallet, ATM cards, and tools were discarded in a nearby canal. The duo admitted to committing multiple burglaries in the Trilokpuri region to finance their drug addiction. Both were arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Court, and were subsequently sent to Judicial Custody. Their arrest has provided vital leads in several pending burglary cases across East District. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

1. Yaseen, R/o Trilokpuri, Delhi – Age 30 years
o Education: Up to 5th standard
o Background: Smack addict, habitual offender
2. Yameen, R/o Trilokpuri, Delhi (Brother of Yaseen), age 33years
o Education: Up to 8th standard
o Background: Smack addict, habitual offender, known repeat burglar
MOTIVE OF THE ACCUSED: -
During sustained interrogation, both accused, Yaseen and Yameen, confessed that their primary motive behind committing the burglary was to fund their drug addiction. Being habitual smack addicts, they admitted to targeting locked residential and commercial premises during the night to steal valuables that could be quickly converted into cash. They revealed that the stolen money was immediately used to purchase narcotics, while electronic items were either sold or retained for further use. Their actions were not driven by need but by a sustained pattern of drug dependency and criminal behavior. Both have a history of repeat burglaries, and their arrest has provided crucial insights into similar unsolved cases in the area.
