✳️ *ACCUSED PERSONS WERE ARRESTED AFTER ANALYSING MORE THAN 120 CCTV CAMERAS AND DEVELOPING TECHNICAL INPUTS.*
✳️ *TWO STOLEN MOBILE PHONES, ₹2000/- CASH & TWO BLACK COLOR CAPS USED IN COMMISSION OF CRIME RECOVERED.*
A dedicated team of Operations Cell, South-West District has arrested two desperate burglars of the “Topi Gang” namely *Nitin Kumar* & *Himanshu Kumar*, both R/o Rajpur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. With their arrest, two stolen mobile phones, ₹2000/- cash, and two black caps used in commission of crime were recovered.
*INCIDENT, TEAM & ARREST:*
On 04.06.2025, a burglary case vide E-FIR No. 80053924/2025, u/s 303(2) BNS was registered at PS South Campus by the complainant regarding theft of one mobile phone from Kanta General Store. A dedicated team under the leadership of Insp. Ram Kumar, I/C Anti Burglary Cell, comprising SI Bachchu Singh, HC Sunil Kumar, HC Kanti Lal, HC Ajay, Ct Anshu, Ct Mahesh and Ct Sanwariya was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Vijay Kumar, ACP/Operations to nab the burglars. The team started analyzing CCTV cameras. Local intelligence and technical inputs were also developed. Based on these efforts, two burglars of “Topi Gang” were identified as Nitin Kumar and Himanshu Kumar, both residents of Rajpur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
On 11.07.2025, both accused persons were apprehended. During interrogation, they revealed that they used to wear black color caps during commission of crime to conceal their faces. They used to target shops in market areas – one member would engage the shopkeeper while the other stole valuable items like mobile phones and other gadgets. On their instance, two stolen mobile phones, ₹2000/- cash, and two black caps were recovered and seized. Accused persons were arrested in the case.
*PROFILE OF ACCUSED ARRESTED:*
Accused Nitin Kumar and Himanshu Kumar, both residents of Rajpur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Due to poor financial conditions, they joined criminal activities with their brother-in-law’s gang named “Topi Gang.” They are habitual burglars and active in the Delhi NCR region. They used to wear black caps to hide their identity during crimes.

1. Two stolen mobile phones
2. ₹2000/- cash (withdrawn through online mode from stolen mobile)
3. Two black color caps used during commission of crime
