“OPERATION MILAP”
A MENTALLY UNSOUND MISSING BOY, AGE 15 YEARS RE-UNITED WITH HIS PARENTS WITHIN HOURS, BY THE TEAM OF PS SUBZI MANDI, NORTH DISTRICT
On the intervening night of 06/07.07.2025, a dedicated police team comprising ASI Satyapal Singh and Ct Lal Chand of PS Subzi Mandi was performing night patrolling duty in the area, under the supervision of Inspr. Banwari Lal, SHO/PS Subzi Mandi, Delhi. At about 11:30 PM, above said police team reached Barfkhana Chowk, Subzi Mandi where they noticed a boy of unsound mind, aged about 15 years surrounded by 3-4 persons and he was being enquired about his residence but the boy was unable to speak & listen and was also unaware about his address and family members. The boy was very nervous and horrified, so the police team understood his situation as he might have forgotten his home and whereabouts of his family. The boy was taken to Police Station Subzi Mandi and he was offered some eatables like snacks, biscuits and ice-cream etc. in order to soothe him.
The team counseled the abandoned boy politely, meanwhile ASI Satyapal Singh applied his tactics and gave a plain paper and a pen to the unsound boy, in-turn the boy wrote a mobile number. Then the ASI made a call on the given mobile phone which was picked up by a person namely Prakash Sahni r/o Kapashera, Delhi, who got a sigh of relief when heard about the presence of his son namely ‘M’, age 15 years under the safe custody of police. The father of abandoned boy came to PS Subzi Mandi at about 01:30 AM (Midnight) and told that he runs a tea stall nearby his house at Kapashera , Delhi with the help of his son who is mentally unsound. During evening hours of 06.07.25, his minor boy namely ‘M’, age 15 years somehow got slipped from his tea stall and he along with his family was also searching him everywhere.
Subsequently, after proper enquiry and verification, the missing boy was re-united with his father under “Operation Milap” which brought back the smile on the faces of both child and his father and they thanked the team of PS Subzi Mandi from the bottom of their hearts.
As such, the prompt action of the team helped in preventing any mishap. The incident highlights the humane face of Delhi Police.
