A CASE OF MOBILE PHONE SNATCHING SOLVED WITHIN 24 HOURS BY PS LAJPAT NAGAR, ONE ACCUSED ARRESTED AND ONE CCL APPREHENDED, SNATCHED MOBILE PHONE AND MOTORCYCLE USED IN THE CRIME RECOVERED

The Lajpat Nagar Police Station, South East District has demonstrated exemplary efficiency by solving a mobile phone snatching case within 24 hours of its occurrence. This rapid response led to the arrest of one snatcher Mehtab Alam @ Harry and apprehension of One CCL. Snatched Mobile and motorcycle used in the crime have been recovered from their possession.

INCIDENT, TEAM & OPERATION:-
On July 5, 2025, at approximately 6:00 AM, a PCR call was received at Police Station Lajpat Nagar concerning a mobile phone snatching incident in Nehru Nagar. The complainant reported that their mobile phone was snatched by three individuals riding a motorcycle.
A dedicated "Crack Team" from PS Lajpat Nagar, comprising Head Constable Neeraj, Head Constable Kirorimal, Head Constable and Vipin Constable Sumit Rajan was immediately activated. The team embarked on an intensive and widespread search, meticulously reviewing over 100 CCTV cameras across an approximate 25-kilometer radius within a span of 20 hours.
This diligent work led to the initial tracking of the motorcycle's registration number near the Garhi area. Due to the absence of further CCTV coverage in the immediate vicinity, an extensive ground search was initiated, involving additional police personnel covering an area of approximately 500 meters. Every lane and bylane was thoroughly checked, and the suspect motorcycle, an HF Deluxe (Registration No. DL 3SFT 95XX), was eventually located parked in one such lane.
Thereafter, search was made discreetly about the culprits. Finally, one accused Mehtab Alam @ Harry S/o Md. Mukhtar R/o Sant Nagar Delhi, Age- 23 yrs was arrested and one CCL G S/o K was apprehended. The snatched mobile was recovered from their possession. A case has been registered under FIR No. 272/2025 U/s 304(2)/3(5) BNS at Police Station Lajpat Nagar, Delhi.
Further discreet surveillance of internal CCTV footage in the lane revealed all three accused individuals walking towards a bylane. The third co-accused, identified as Faisal, was found absconding from his house. Efforts are underway to apprehend Faisal.

INTERROGATION:-
On sustained interrogation, accused Mehtab revealed that he works as a delivery boy of Zepto and he commit such crime to earn quick money for purchasing liquor and intoxicants.

2.    Vivo Mobile Phone (snatched)

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON:-
1.    Mehtab Alam @ Harry (Age 23): Son of Md. Mukhtar, resident of Sant Nagar, Delhi. Mehtab works as a delivery boy for Zepto. His previous involvement is NIL. 
2.    One CCL apprehended.
