A BLIND ARMED ROBBERY SOLVED BY THE TEAM OF PS CIVIL LINES, NORTH DISTRICT

•    TWO NOTORIOUS ROBBERS ARRESTED WHO ROBBED THE VICTIM AT THE POINT OF KNIFE.
•    THE ACCUSED WERE IDENTIFIED BY ANALYZING CCTV CAMERAS INSTALLED ON THE ROUTE TAKEN BY THE ACCUSED. 
•    WEAPON OF OFFENCE I.E. KNIFE, CASH RS. 700/- AND DOCUMENTS OF THE VICTIM RECOVERED.
•    THE ACCUSED USED TO TARGET THE GULLIBLE PEOPLE IN WEE HOURS.

INCIDENT:
On 29.06.2025 at about 07:00 AM, a PCR call regarding robbery was received at PS Civil Lines, Delhi. The local police reached the spot where complainant Sh. Mahender Kumar, aged 70 years, r/o Aruna Nagar, Majnu Ka Tilla, Delhi reported that at about 06:30 AM, he was on morning walk and when he reached near DDA Park, Outer Ring Road, two boys came from behind and one of them choked his neck by pointing knife and another person robbed gold locket from his neck, a mobile phone make OPPO, cash Rs. 2,500/-, & some documents from his pockets and they both fled away towards Majnu Ka Tilla after pushing the victim on the roadside.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 338/25 dated 29.06.25 u/s 309(6)/311/3(5) BNS was registered at PS Civil Lines and the investigation was taken up.

TEAM & INVESTIGATION:
In view of the gravity of case, immediately, a dedicated police team led by SI Nitin Sharma, comprising PSI Prince Gautam, HC Anil Kumar and HC Vivek was formed, under the close supervision of Inspr. Hanumant Singh, SHO/PS Civil Lines and guidance of Ms. Vinita Tyagi, ACP/Sub-Division, Civil Lines, Delhi. 
Initially, there was no clue as no CCTV cameras were found installed at or nearby the place of incident, but the team continued their sincere efforts to trace the culprits. The team checked and analyzed the footages of CCTV cameras from Chandgiram Akhada to Majnu Ka Tilla and succeeded in identifying some suspects and all were verified by collecting local intelligence. Out of these suspect persons, two culprits identified as Shanu and Deepak, both residents of Majnu Ka Tilla were zeroed in. Thereafter, raid was conducted and both were apprehended on 02.07.2025 during early morning hours, while they were moving on the Outer Ring Road, near Majnu Ka Tilla, Delhi. Both were interrogated thoroughly, during which they confessed about their involvement in the above case. On their personal search, cash Rs. 700/- was recovered from their possession.  

INTERROGATION: 
    During the course of interrogation, accused persons Shanu and Deepak disclosed that in the morning hours of 29.06.25, they were roaming on Outer Ring Road nearby Majnu-Ka-Tilla in search of soft targets for committing crime. When they reached near Sanjay Akhada, Outer Ring Road, they noticed an old aged person going towards Chadgiram Akhada. Accused Shanu choked his neck and put a knife and accused Deepak robbed a gold locket, cash Rs. 2,500/-, some documents and one mobile phone from the complainant and both of them escaped after pushing the victim on the roadside. The weapon of offence i.e. one knife, some documents of the victim were also recovered at their instance, which they had hidden in the bushes of 56 Pahari area. The accused further disclosed that they had sold the robbed gold locket and mobile phone to unknown persons for Rs. 2,700/- and later on they had spent the illegal earned amount to fulfill their addiction of drugs and alcohol.

    During further interrogation, the accused persons disclosed that they had committed other three incidents of robbery with truck drivers in the nearby areas few hours before the above incident. The facts of their disclosure are being verified. Further investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to affect the remaining recovery of the robbed articles.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:       
1.    Shanu, r/o Aruna Nagar, Majnu Ka Tila, Civil lines, Delhi, age 26 years. (Previously he was found involved in a case of Excise Act of PS Civil Lines, Delhi. He is a school dropout and a drug addict and committing crime for more than 05 years).
 
2.    Deepak, r/o Aruna Nagar, Majnu Ka Tila, Civil Lines, Delhi, age 24 years. (He is also a school dropout and drug addict and indulged in committing crime with other associates to fund his daily needs for drugs).
RECOVERY:
1.    One knife used in the commission of offence. 
2.    Driving License and other documents of the victim.  
3.    Part of robbed money Rs. 700/-.
