🚨 *

▶️ *BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE:*

On 22nd June 2025, a complaint was received at PS Mangol Puri regarding a case of chain snatching. The complainant reported that while he was returning to his PG accommodation from West Enclave along with his friends, two unidentified boys riding a sports bike intercepted them in front of F-Block Jhuggi, Kanjhawala Road. They forcibly snatched his gold chain and fled from the spot, heading towards Deepali Chowk on Outer Ring Road.

Accordingly On his statement, a case vide FIR No. 455/2025, dated 22.06.2025, U/s 304(2)/3(5) BNS, PS Mangol Puri was registered.

⏩️ *TEAM CONSTITUTION*

Considering the sensitivity of the case two dedicated teams one from Police Station Mangol Puri comprising HC Ajay, HC Hanuman, HC Sandeep, Ct. Ramkesh & Ct. Anup led by Insp. Joginder Singh, SHO/Mangol Puri under the close supervision of Sh. Murari Lal, ACP/Mangol Puri and another from District Special Team comprising SI Sandeep Sheoran, HC Rakesh, HC Sumit, HC Mohit, Ct. Sandeep, Ct. Neeraj and Ct. Setharam led by Insp. Vikram, I/C DST under the supervision of Sh. Neki Ram Lamba, ACP/DIU was constituted.

⏭️ *OPERATION AND INTERROGATION:*

During the course of investigation, dedicated police teams meticulously examined numerous CCTV cameras installed in and around the vicinity of the crime scene as well as all possible escape routes. In parallel, secret informers were activated to gather leads and identify the accused persons.

Their persistent efforts paid off on 01.07.2025, when credible human intelligence was received regarding the movement of the suspects near West Enclave, Pitampura. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, a joint special picket(trap) was established near the park at West Enclave, Pitampura during the intervening night of 01-02 July 2025 by teams from PS Mangolpuri, comprising HC Hanuman, HC Sandeep, Ct. Ramkesh, and Ct. Anup, along with the District Special Staff team including Ct. Neeraj and Ct. Setharam.

At around 10:05 PM, while vehicle checking was underway, two individuals riding a motorcycle without a number plate approached from Ankumpa Chowk. On spotting the police presence, they panicked left their motorcycle on the spot and attempted to flee. Finding them as suspects, HC Ajay, along with Ct. Anup and Ct. Neeraj, swiftly overpowered the rider, who was later identified as Karan and on his personal search a semi-automatic pistol with two live cartridges was recovered from his possession. Consequently, a case was registered against him under FIR No. 465/2025 dated 02.07.2025, U/s 25 Arms Act at PS Mangol Puri.

Simultaneously, HC Sandeep, assisted by Ct. Ramkesh and Ct. Setharam, chased and apprehended the pillion rider after a brief pursuit, who was identified as Jitender and from his personal search a button-actuated knife and one gold chain were recovered from his possession, following which a separate case under FIR No. 466/2025 dated 02.07.2025, U/s 25 Arms Act was registered at PS Mangol Puri.

Upon checking the engine and chasis number of the recovered motorcycle through ZIPNET, it was found to be stolen from the jurisdiction of PS Karol Bagh, registered under e-FIR No. 014755/2025 U/S 305(B) BNS.

During sustained interrogation, both the accused disclosed that they belong to the ‘Sansi’ tribe and were dissatisfied with their parental occupation of selling illicit liquor. Driven by a desire for wealth and a lavish lifestyle, they turned to crime. They further confessed to recently stealing the said motorcycle from Karol Bagh and committing the chain snatching on 22.06.2025 in the area of West Enclave, Pitampura. This snatching incident had been registered under FIR No. 455/2025 dated 22.06.2025 U/S 304(2)/3(5) BNS at PS Mangolpuri.

Both accused have been arrested, and all recovered items, including the weapon, gold chain, and stolen motorcycle, have been duly seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

2. Jitender, R/O Gulabi Bagh, Delhi age-43 years (*He is previously involved in 63 other criminal cases*)
