• *INCIDENT OVERVIEW:-*

​In a significant breakthrough, the dedicated team of the Foreigners Cell, North-West District, has successfully apprehended seven illegal Bangladeshi migrants following a sustained and meticulous surveillance operation. Among those arrested is Suhan Khan, a Bangladeshi national who had previously been deported from India on May 15, 2025, by the same unit. His re-apprehension on June 30, 2025, highlights both the persistent attempts by some individuals to re-enter the country illegally and the unwavering vigilance of the Delhi Police. This incident sends a strong message that any attempt to circumvent legal immigration processes will be met with strict action. The team also recovered three smart mobile phones from their possession, all installed with the banned IMO app, which were being used to communicate with their families in Bangladesh. The Delhi Police remains committed to identifying and taking firm action against illegal immigrants in coordination with all concerned agencies.

• *OPERATION DETAILS:*

​A special drive is being conducted against illegal Bangladeshi migrants in the district, focusing primarily in the areas of PS Shalimar Bagh. As part of this initiative, a dedicated team was constituted, comprising of ASI Rajender Singh, Ct. Rohit Ranjan from PS Adarsh Nagar, Insp. Net Ram, HC Pooran, Ct. Rajesh from PS Jahangir Puri, SI Shyam Bir, SI Sapan, HC Vikram, HC Praveen, HC Vikash Yadav, Ct. Hawa Singh & Ct. Deepak Bangar under the close supervision of Insp. Vipin Kumar I/C Foreigners Cell and overall supervision of Sh. Ranjeev Kumar, ACP/CAW Cell.

​During the operation, the team conducted random checks across main roads, inner street cordons, intelligence-based localities, residential areas, and traffic junctions, all in a well-coordinated and synchronized manner. During this drive, five transgender individuals were found begging at different locations. Upon questioning, their identities as Indian nationals appeared doubtful. They were apprehended for detailed interrogation and were later confirmed to be Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in the area without valid travel documents, visas, or permits—thereby violating the provisions of the Foreigners Act, 1946, and other applicable immigration laws. Furthermore, during late-night and early-morning hours of June 30, 2025, one adult male and one adult female were also apprehended from the area of PS Shalimar Bagh after thorough questioning, adding to the total number of arrests.

​This meticulously planned joint operation is a testament to our commitment to national security and the enforcement of immigration laws. The apprehended individuals were found to be residing illegally in various parts of the North West District without valid travel documents or permits, in violation of the Foreigners Act.
​All the individuals were apprehended and shifted to the Foreigners cell for detailed interrogation and documentation. During interrogation, 03 mobile phones with banned IMO app installed were found with them.
