FAKE POLICE GANG BUSTED – EIGHT ACCUSED ARRESTED WITH RECOVERY OF ROBBED CASH, LAPTOP, MOBILE PHONES & VEHICLES USED IN CRIME BY THE SPECIAL STAFF OF EAST DISTRICT & THE STAFF OF PS LAXMI NAGAR.
Team of Special Staff, East District & the staff of PS Laxmi Nagar arrested 8 robbers with in 24 hrs.
Robbers conducted a fake police raid on an insurance policy office in Laxmi Nagar, Delhi so as to commit robbery.
Two car used in crime along with robbed cash and laptop and mobile phone recovered
CCTV footage and technical surveillance led to the identification of the accused.
INCIDENT :-
On 27.06.2025, complainant Salman S/o Allaudin, aged 31 years, resident of Shastri Park, Delhi-53, who operates an insurance policy office in the Laxmi Nagar area, reported that on 26.06.2025, four individuals posing as members of the Special Staff Unit of the Police forcibly entered his office and robbed him of his mobile phone and laptop. Thereafter, they forcibly took him away in a Hyundai Venue car, physically assaulted him, and extorted a total of ₹1.5 lakhs from him, including ₹70,000/- transferred to an account—under the threat of falsely implicating him in a fabricated insurance case. Subsequently, based on his statement, FIR No. 187/2025 under Sections 137(2), 309(4), 309(6), and 3(5) of the BNS was registered at PS Laxmi Nagar, East Delhi on 28.06.2025, and investigation has been initiated.
INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION :-
In view of the gravity of the offence, a dedicated team of Special Staff/East District, led by Insp. Jitendra Malik, was deployed alongside the local police under the close supervision of Sh. Pawan Kumar, ACP/Ops, and overall supervision of the undersigned.
The team meticulously analysed CCTV footage from the vicinity and successfully identified the accused individuals. Acting promptly on credible technical inputs, the team apprehended five absconding accused persons during the night of 28.06.2025, while they were travelling in a Hyundai Venue car (No. DL 4CBD 0**7), used in the commission of the robbery, at Noida Link Road. Subsequently, three more accused persons involved in the robbery were arrested from various locations across Delhi in a joint operation conducted by the Special Staff/East District and PS Laxmi Nagar. In addition to the arrests, another vehicle—a Honda City (No. DL 1CU 9**5)—also used in the crime, was recovered, along with stolen cash, a laptop, and mobile phones.
Due to the swift action, seamless coordination, and relentless efforts of the Special Staff/East District and PS Laxmi Nagar, all eight accused were apprehended within hours, and the stolen items were recovered. During interrogation, it was revealed that accused Hunny Kumar, a former employee of the complainant who had left the job approximately two weeks ago, had provided inside information to accused Sunny Sharma. Sunny Sharma then mobilised his associates to execute the robbery. Further investigation disclosed that Sunny Sharma had previously been arrested in a cyber fraud case in Ghaziabad, U.P., for which FIR details are being procured. Additionally, accused Ankit was found to be involved in two prior criminal cases. Further investigation is currently in progress.

5. Rahul Gupta R/o Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, Karawal Nagar, Delhi.
age 27 Years.

Occupation: Data Analist.
Education: Graduate.
6. Rahul Yadav @ Badam R/o Utsav Vihar Karala Rohini, Delhi.
age 27 Years.

MOTIVE OF THE ACCUSED:
During interrogation, it was revealed that accused Hunny Kumar, a former employee of the victim, harbored personal grudges and passed insider information to Sunny Sharma, who then conspired with other associates to execute the planned robbery.
The group impersonated police personnel to intimidate the victim and extort money, falsely threatening to implicate him in a fabricated insurance fraud case.
The motive behind the crime was financial gain, using the guise of law enforcement to extort money and valuables with minimal suspicion.
Accused Sunny Sharma was previously arrested in a cyber fraud case, and Ankit Jain was found involved in two other criminal cases, indicating their habitual criminal tendencies.
RECOVERY:
Hyundai Venue Car DL 4CBD 0**7 used in offence.
Honda City Car DL 1CU 9**5 used in offence.
One Laptop make HP robbed in offence.
Three multimedia mobile phones robbed in offence.
Robbed cash INR 10,000/-.
INR 45,000/- freeze in account.
