OAS Officers to go on "Mass Leave" from July 1, in Protest "Assault of #BMC Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo": OAS Association
The Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) Association announces on Monday, that its members will go on Mass leave from Tuesday 1st July 2025, to protest against the alleged assault of a senior OAS officer and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo, and allegedly dragged from his office and assaulted by a group of miscreants on Monday, in broad daylight within official premises.
The Association has said that the incident is not an isolated one and it is being observed that a narrative has been set up for the past one year, to humiliate Govt servants and even resorting to bodily threat, physical assault and mental agony.
"It is not only unprecedented and deeply disturbing, but also represents a grave threat to the safety and dignity of officers across the state who are committed to upholding public service."
"An attack of such nature on a senior officer, while on duty, is an attack on the very foundation of the administrative framework."
The Association expresses its strongest condemnation of this act and stands in solidarity with the officer concerned, as well as all members of the administrative fraternity who are rightly alarmed by this breach of security and decorum.
OAS Association urges the competent authorities to take immediate and exemplary action against those responsible, and to implement robust measures to ensure the safety and protection of officers at the workplace.
"Until then, as a mark of protest and to express our collective concern, members of the Association shall remain on mass leave starting from the date mentioned above", says OAS Association
