THE TEAM OF SPECIAL STAFF ARRESTED TWO DESPERATE ROBBERS INVOLVED IN ROBBERY WITH A USA CITIZEN AFTER A BRIEF EXCHANGE OF FIRE AT DDA ASHTA KUNJ PARK, AMAR COLONY

The team of Special staff/SED has arrested two desperate robbers Jatin @ Mogli and Akshay, who had committed armed robbery with a US citizen on the intervening night of 25/26 June 2025 in the area of P.S Amar Colony, after brief exchange of fire at DDA Astha Kunj Park, Amar Colony. 03-03 rounds were fired from both the sides. The accused persons has sustained bullet injuries in their right legs in retaliatory fire from police staff.  One Sophiticated Pistol, 01 Country Made Katta and three live rounds have been recovered from their possession.  

INCIDENT,

On 26.06.2025, an information was received at P.S Amar colony from Fortis Escort Hospital, NFC vide DD no. 05A regrading MLC of Pt Aradome Bela Kahn C/o Dr Mala Sibal Age 28 yrs with Alleged History of "Assault by knife/sharp object by 02 boys at Nehru Place at around midnight on the intervening night of 25/26 June 2025 while he was walking through DDA Astha Kunj park with his friend. The injured was later shifted to Apollo hospital for his hand surgery.

At Apollo hospital, Sarita Vihar, his friend/complainant apprised that her friend who is US citizen came to India on 20/06/2025 and was staying at Hotel Elegant in East of Kailash. She alleged that on 25.06.25 at about 2350 hrs, while they were walking from Nehru Place towards her hotel through the park then two guys assaulted his friend with sharp object wherein, he had sustained injuries on both hands. Accordingly, a case vide FIR 334/2025 dated 26.06.25 was registered at P.S Amar Colony under relevant sections. However, the complainant later came to know that the alleged robbers had also robbed her mobile phone during the assault.

TEAM & INVESTIGATION:-
Sensing the gravity of the incident, a team of Special staff comprising SI Shubham Chaudhary, SI Munesh, SI Vinod, SI Rajbir, ASI Anil, HC Rajesh, HC Mahendar, HC Prem Narayan, HC Vivek, Ct Lakhan, Ct Chotu Ram and Ct Satveer led by Insp Rajender Singh Dagar, Incharge/Special Staff/SED was formed under the supervision of Sh. Dalip Singh, ACP/Ops to solve the case.

Accordingly, the team analyzed the CCTV footages in the nearby area and carried out day night surveillance of Astha Kunj Park and nearby area of Garhi, Kalkaji and Nehru place through its informers and operatives. On the basis of technical & human intelligence and the description received from the complainant and the victim the team verified multiple suspects during the operation.
Finally, on 29.06.25 at about 01:30AM Insp Rajender Singh Dagar received credible inputs regarding the movement of the accused persons through DDA Astha Kunj park towards Kalkaji. Accordingly, senior officers were apprised and a trap was laid near entry/exit gate of Ashta Kunj park. At 05:10 AM the accused persons were identified by informers and the accused persons were warned to surrender. However, the accused persons carrying one sophisticated pistol and one country made katta fired, a total of three rounds at the police party one of them hitting the bulletproof jacket of Insp. RS Dagar on chest and one hitting bullet proof jacket of HC Mahendar on his chest, however they could narrowly . In retaliatory fire and self defense, Insp RS Dagar fired two rounds and HC Mahendar fired one round aiming at the legs of the accused persons in order to neutralize them. Thus, injuring right legs of both the accused persons namely Jatin@ Mogli and Akshay. The accused were overpowered with the help of SI Shubham Chaudhary, ASI Anil, HC Prem and Ct Lakhan. The accused/injured were immediately rushed to AIIMS Trauma center where in they are under treatment and a case was registered at PS Amar Colony.  Further investigation is being carried out.

INTERROGATION:- 
On sustained interrogation, accused Jatin @ Mogli disclosed that he and co-accused Akshay were classmates and both had left school when they were in 5th standard. They fell in bad company and got addicted to alcohol and drugs and Jatin also got apprehended in criminal case of Assault and robbery in order to earn easy money. They disclosed that he used to target secluded places like parks ,parkings and abandoned roads and committed robbery with the pedestrians.  Acting on their similar modus operandi, on the intervening night of 25/26 June 2025 they assaulted one foreigner with a knife at Astha Kunj park Amar Colony and robbed his Apple mobile. On 29.06.2025 also they were planning to commit robbery however they were apprehended by the police after an encounter.

RECOVERY:-
1.    One sophisticated pistol with two live rounds
2.    One country-made katta with one live round
3.    One mobile phone used in crime
4.    03 empty cartridges of bullets fired by the accused persons.
5.    One bullet lead fired on bullet proof jacket of Insp RS Dagar.
6.    One bullet lead fired on bullet proof jacket of HC Mahendra.
7.    03 empty cartridges of bullets fired by police party on accused persons.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON :-
1.    Jatin @ Mogli s/o Sharwan r/o Uttam Nagar New Delhi Age 20 yrs. He is previously involved in 2 cases of assault with Sharp weapon and disclosed to have been active in armed robbery.

2.    Akshay Baithini s/o Nathuni Baithini r/o Kalakji  New Delhi Age -20 yrs. His Previous involvement is NIL.
