Over 21,000 people get appointment letters for police jobs in Bihar Patna, June 28 (Language) Over 21,000 newly appointed policemen in Bihar were handed over appointment letters during a ceremony in Patna on Saturday. On this occasion, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that no other state has as many women in the police force as Bihar. The Chief Minister said, "I have asked the Director General of Police (DGP) to finalize the recruitment of 55,000 more personnel as soon as possible. We want to increase the number of our police force to 2.29 lakh." A total of 21,391 newly appointed policemen, including 11,178 women and 10,205 men, were given appointment letters in an auditorium where Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and DGP Vinay Kumar were also present. The Chief Minister said, "We came to power in November 2005 and at that time the number of Bihar Police was only 51,000. Now the government is committed to increase the strength of the police force to 2.29 lakh and our government has significantly increased the number of women in the police force...now the number of women in the police force is 36,000
