*TWO DESPERATE SNATCHERS -CUM- AUTO-LIFTERS ARRESTED WITH THE HELP OF TECHNICAL INVESTIGATION AND LOCAL INTELLIGENCE, BY THE TEAM OF PS CIVIL LINES, NORTH DISTRICT*
• *ONE STOLEN SCOOTY USED IN THE COMMISSION OF SNATCHING RECOVERED.*
• *BOTH ACCUSED HAVE CRIMINAL HISTORY IN MANY CASES OF SNATCHING, MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT AND ARMS ACT REGISTERED IN DIFFERENT POLICE STATIONS OF SHAHDARA & NORTH-EAST DISTRICTS.*
• *WITH THEIR ARREST, 02 CASES OF SNATCHING AND MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT REGISTERED IN POLICE STATIONS CIVIL LINES AND WELCOME WORKED OUT.*
*INCIDENT:*
On 20.06.2025, a PCR call regarding mobile phone snatching was received at PS Civil Lines, Delhi and the same was entrusted to PSI Sushil for taking necessary action. The IO along-with other staff reached the spot wherein the complainant namely Rohit, r/o Karawal Nagr, Delhi, age 29 years (who is studying for UPSC exam) stated that on 20.06.25 at about 10:00 AM, he was present at Club Road, near Vidya Samikha Kendra, Civil Lines, Delhi. Meanwhile, two boys riding on a scooty came from behind and the pillion rider snatched his mobile phone, make Samsung Galaxy Fold-3 and both of them fled away.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 324/25 dated 20.06.2025 u/s 304(2)/3(5) BNS was registered at PS Civil Lines, Delhi on the statement of victim and the investigation was taken up.
*TEAM AND INVESTIGAITON:*
Immediately, a dedicated police team led by *SI Nitin Sharma, comprising PSI Sushil, HC Anil Kumar and HC Vivek* was formed to crack the case and to nab the culprits along-with the recovery of snatched mobile phone of the victim and two-wheeler used in crime, under the close supervision of *Inspr. Hanumant Singh, SHO/PS Civil Lines and guidance of Ms. Vinita Tyagi, ACP/Sub-Division, Civil Lines, Delhi.*
During investigation, the team conducted technical investigation and checked more than 50 CCTV cameras at and around the place of incident and finally succeeded in getting clear images of the accused persons as well as the registration number of the scooty used in the commission of crime. On further enquiry, the scooty, make Suzuki Access bearing reg. No. DL5SDF78-I-VII was found to be stolen from the area of Kabir Nagar, Babarpur, Shahdara, Delhi, on 19.06.2025. Thereafter, the team reached the place where from the scooty was stolen and they checked & analyzed the footages of several CCTV cameras of that area and found that the persons who had stolen the scooty are same.
Further, intensive search operation by mounting technical surveillance and human intelligence was put into swing to nab the accused persons and on the basis of local intelligence, the team identified the accused persons as Suhail and Sameer, both r/o Buland Masjid, Shastri Park, Delhi. Thereafter, the team laid traps and one of the accused persons identified *Suhail, age 21 years* was apprehended from Kabir Nagar, Babarpur area, on 23.06.2025.
*INTERROGATION:*
During the course of interrogation, the accused person Suhail confessed about to his role and involvement in the commission of snatching of mobile phone from the victim on 20.06.25 at Club Road, near Vidya Samikha Kendra, Civil Lines, Delhi along-with his associate namely Sameer. Subsequently, on his instance, the co-accused *Sameer, age 22 years* was also apprehended on the same day near from Shastri Park Red Light. Both the accused persons were interrogated and arrested in present case of snatching.
Both the accused persons disclosed that on 19.06.2025 they had stolen the scooty, make Suzuki Access from the area of Kabir Nagar, Babarpur, Shahdara, Delhi during night hours and they were using the same two-wheeler for committing offences like robbery/snatching. On 20.06.25, they were roaming on the stolen scooty nearby the area of ISBT in the search of a target for committing offence and at about 10 AM, when they reached at Club Road, Civil Lines, they noticed a person who was talking on his mobile phone, meanwhile the pillion rider Sameer snatched his mobile phone. Later on they had sold the snatched mobile phone to one Naved who met them in the area of Shastri Park. The scooty used in snatching case was recovered on their instance.
Further, investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to nab the receiver of snatched mobile phone as well as to affect the recovery.
*PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:*
1. Suhail, r/o E-Block, Buland Masjid, Shastri Park, Delhi, age 21 years. (Previously he was found involved in 06 cases of Snatching, Motor Vehicle Theft and Arms Act, registered in Farsh Bazar, Welcome and Shastri Park, Delhi. He is school dropout and has studied up to 8th standard only. He is also addicted to alcohol and ganja etc. and committing crimes for more than 02 years to fund his daily needs for drugs and earn easy money for living a lavish lifestyle).
2. *Sameer,* r/o A-Block Buland Masjid, Shastri Park, Delhi, age 22 years. (Previously he was found involved in 04 cases of Snatching and Motor Vehicle Theft registered in Police Stations Bhajanpura, Seemapuri, Krishna Nagar and Jagatpuri, Delhi. He is a school dropout and has studied up to 9th standard only. He is also addicted to alcohol and ganja etc. and committing crimes for more than 03 years to fund his daily needs for drugs and earn easy money for living a lavish lifestyle).
*RECOVERY:*
• One Scooty, make Suzuki Access 125, used in crime, stolen from the area of PS Welcome, Delhi.
