RRU THEFTS CASES IN DELHI AND PUNJAB ARRESTED BY TEAM OF CENTRAL RANGE, CRIME BRANCH.
• ONE STOLEN RRU , 04 LAKH CASH AND ONE FRONX SIGMA CAR INVOLVED IN THEFT OF RRU CARDS IN PUNJAB RECOVERED.
INCIDENT, TEAM AND OPERATION
Based on credible intelligence and technical hard work by done by HC Vijay to establish the identity and location of accused a dedicated team led by Inspector Sunil Kr. Kalkhande—comprising SI Birpal, HC Raushan, HC Vijay, HC Jai Singh, HC Parveen, and HC Samander—successfully apprehended a wanted and desperate thief, namely Shavej Ahmad @ Prince @ Prince Malik, age 27 years, S/o Nafis Ahmad, R/o Baba Deep Singh Colony, Chandigarh Road, Rajpura, District Patiala, Punjab (also residing at PS Khatauli, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh), after an extensive interstate operation.Shavej Ahmad was actively operating in Punjab and was involved in the delivery, supply/ harbouring of stolen RRU (Remote Radio Unit) cards to Delhi and Meerut.
In an effort to conceal his identity and evade law enforcement agencies, he used a fake name, Prince Malik, and frequently changed his address and mobile numbers. However, after a three-day manhunt across Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, the above-mentioned team successfully tracked and arrested him from Khatauli, Muzaffarnagar, U.P., on the Delhi-Haridwar highway.
INTERROGATION
The accused disclosed that he studied up to the 8th grade in Patiala, Punjab. He initially worked at a shoe shop and later became a scrap dealer. In pursuit of easy profits, he turned to the theft of mobile communication machinery.
RECOVERY
1.One stolen RRU which is connected in FIR No. 80047134/2024 Dated 07.05.2024 U/s 380/411 IPC PS PS Burari, North District Delhi (being investigated by Central Range, Crime Branch).
2.Cash Rs. 4 Laks (money he received for suppling the stolen RRUs Cards)
3. One Fronx Sigma car involved in theft of RRU cards in Punjab.
PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENTS
1. Accused is found wanted in 61/2025 dated 30.05.2025 U/s 303(2)/317(2)/112 BNS and 25 Telegraph Act PS Cheema, Punjab
(CIA Sangrur). (Mobile Tower machinery theft) 2. FIR No. 668/22 u/s 379/411 IPC PS Shahbad, Haryana.
3. FIR No. 53/22 u/s 379 IPC PS Sadar Rajpura, Punjab.
CONCLUSION
The successful apprehension of Shavej Ahmad @ Prince @ Prince Malik is a testament to the unwavering dedication, coordination, and investigative acumen of the police team of Crime Branch, Delhi Police. This arrest not only disrupted a network involved in the theft and illegal distribution of critical mobile communication equipment but also serves as a strong message to criminal elements operating across state borders. Further, investigation is underway to identify and apprehend other associates involved in the racket.
