There has been a bureaucratic reshuffle in Gujarat. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's government has simultaneously transferred 13 officers of the Indian Administrative Service. They have been transferred and given new responsibilities. Secretaries of many departments have also been changed. A district has also got a new collector. Additional charge has also been given to many officers. The General Administration Department has also issued an order regarding transfer and appointment.

Batch 1997 IAS officer Ashwini Kumar has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department. Earlier he was working as Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Urban Housing Department. He has also got the additional charge of the post of Principal Secretary of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department. Ramesh Chand Meena has been transferred to the Principal Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department and given the additional charge of the post of Principal Secretary of Ports and Transport Department.

Batch 2006 IAS officer Om Prakash has been appointed as the Collector of Rajkot in place of Prabhat Joshi. Earlier he was handling the responsibility of the post of Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Junagadh. Ashish Kumar, Collector Panchmahal-Godhra has been appointed as Director of Tribal Development, Gandhinagar. Apart from this, additional charge of Gujarat Development Assistance Agency (D-SAG), Gandhinagar has also been handed over. Services of Prabha Joshi, Collector Rajkot have been given to the Industries and Mines Department for appointment to the post of Managing Director of Gujarat Tourism Corporation Limited.

These IAS officers also got new responsibilities

M. Thennarasan, Principal Secretary, Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Urban Housing Department.

Milind Shivram Toravane, Managing Director of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited, Gandhinagar has been appointed to the post of Panchayat Rural Housing and Rural Development Department. He has also been given additional charge of Managing Director of GSPC along with Rural Development Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Rural Development).

Aarti Kanwar, Administrative Secretary, Finance Department (Economic Affairs) has been assigned the responsibility of Secretary Finance Department (Expenditure).(rr)

Jenu Devan, Superintendent, Stamp and Inspector General Registration, Gandhinagar has been given additional charge of the post of Managing Director of Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited, Vadodara.

Suthar Raj Rameshchandra, District Development Officer, Dangs-Ahwa has been appointed as District Development Officer, Narmada Rajpipla.

Ankit Pannu has been made District Development Officer, Jamnagar.

Patil Anand Ashok has been given additional charge of District Development Officer, Dangs-Ahwa.(rranjan)
