AN AUTO-LIFTER ARRESTED BY PATROLLING STAFF OF PP NS MANDI PS MAHENDRA PARK, DELHI.

    01 Button Actuated Knife & 01 Stolen Scooty Recovered from Arrested Criminal's Possession.
    Habitual Offender Rehan @ Badi Apprehended; Linked to 12 cases of Robbery and Arms Act.
    Criminal Confessed to Committing Crimes for Easy Money to Fuel Drug and Alcohol Addiction.
    Accused Rehan @ Badi is BC of PS Mahendra Park, Delhi.
      With the arrest of an auto-lifter, Rehan @ Badi S/o Idresh R/o Jahangir Puri, New Delhi, Age- 24 Years, the staff of PP NS Mandi PS Mahendra Park, recovered one button actuated knife & one stolen Scooty from his possession. Accused Rehan @ Badi is a habitual and active criminal with a history of involvement in 12 cases of Robbery and Arms Act. He admitted to committing thefts to earn easy money in order to sustain his addiction to drugs and alcohol.

Brief Facts & Incident Details:-

    In a proactive effort to curb crime and criminal activity in the area, police staff was strategically deployed for patrolling. On 15.06.2025, SI Sachin, ASI Manna Lal, HC Rahul and Ct Bijender were conducting patrolling duty under the supervision of Inspr. Vijay Shanwal SHO/Mahendra Park and the overall supervision of Sh. Rajbir Lamba ACP/Shalimar Bagh.

    During routine patrolling, when the police team reached at Near A-Block Onion Shed Turn, they observed a suspicious individual approaching on a Scooty. Upon noticing the police staff, the individual made a U-turn and attempted to flee in the opposite direction. However, the police staff acted swiftly, displaying a keen sense of alertness, and successfully overpowered and apprehended the suspect alongwith Scooty. On enquiry, the individual was identified as Rehan @ Badi S/o Idresh R/o Jahangir Puri, New Delhi, Age- 24 Years. During his cursory search, one button actuated knife was recovered from his possession.

    In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 347/25 Dt. 15.05.2025, U/S 25/27/54 Arms Act was registered at PS Mahendra Park and investigation was initiated.

    Upon verification, the recovered Activa Scooty bearing registration No. DL-8SBT-9545 was found to be stolen vide FIR No. 016030/25, U/s 305(2) BNS, registered at PS Maurya Enclave. During interrogation, the accused, Rehan @ Badi, confessed his involvement in the present case and other cases as well. The accused was subsequently arrested. Further verification revealed that Rehan @ Badi is a habitual and active criminal with a history of involvement in 12 cases of Robbery, Arms Robbery and Arms Act. He admitted to committing thefts to earn easy money in order to sustain his addiction to drugs and alcohol.

    Further efforts are underway to investigate the accused's potential involvement in other criminal cases.
