*OUTER DISTRICT POLICE LAUNCHES OPERATION "SAFE WHEELS" TO HUNT DOWN AUTO-LIFTERS*
*TOTAL 12 AUTOLIFTERS INCLUDING 03 CCL WERE ARRESTED/APPREHENDED*
*RECOVERED: 10 STOLEN MOTORCYCLES, 02 STOLEN SCOOTIES, 01 STOLEN TATA 407 TRUCK AND 01 MINI TRUCK, 01 COUNTRY MADE PISTOL AND 02 LIVE CARTRIDGES*
In a focused effort to combat incidents of vehicle theft, the Outer District Police under the leadership of DCP Sh. Sachin Sharma launched a dedicated Operation *SAFE WHEELS* aimed exclusively on dismantling autolifter networks.
As part of the operation, specialized teams were constituted in every police station, alongside dedicated district-level special units. These teams were directed to carry out targeted actions against identified auto-lifting gangs, based on crime mapping, offender profiling and hotspot analysis.
The operation was backed by a multi-layered strategy, combining enhanced patrolling, strategic picket deployment, and intensive surveillance in Motor vehicle theft zones. Advanced technical tools were leveraged for tracking suspicious vehicle movements and robust human intelligence network was activated through confidential sources for critical ground-level inputs.
▶️ *OPERATION -I*
*PS SULTANPURI*
A) On 27th May 2025, based on secret information, the PS Sultanpuri team laid a trap near DSIDC Road. HC Amandeep and HC Sukender spotted an individual riding a motorcycle who attempted to flee by making a U-turn. The vigilant officers intercepted and apprehended him. The accused, identified as Chandu. On checking, the motorcycle was found stolen and linked to MVT No. 14561/25 registered at PS Sultanpuri. The accused was arrested and the motorcycle was recovered and seized.
B) On 27th May 2025, acting on secret information, the PS Sultanpuri team laid a trap near Old Macchi Chowk, Sultanpuri. HC Surender, Ct. Praveen, and Ct. Vishnu spotted two individuals riding a motorcycle who tried to flee on seeing the police staff. The vigilant officers intercepted the motor cycle and apprehended them. One accused was identified as Pankaj and another as a CCL, the motorcycle was found to be stolen in e-FIR No. 14486/25, PS Sultanpuri. Both were arrested/ apprehended and the motorcycle was recovered and seized.
▶️ *OPERATION -II*
*PS RANI BAGH*
A. On 21st May 2025, while patrolling in the area of Rani Bagh, the patrol staff, HC Anil and Ct. Ajay of PS Rani Bagh received secret intelligence regarding autolifters in the area. Acting on this, the team laid a trap and spotted an individual riding a scooty who tried to escape by making a U-turn, but the team acted swiftly and intercepted him. The accused was identified as a CCL. On checking, the scooty was found stolen, linked to e-FIR No. 014033/25 under section 305(b) dated 21.05.2025, registered at PS Rani Bagh. The CCL was apprehended and the stolen scooty was recovered and seized.
B. On 25th May 2025, while patrolling in the area of Rani Bagh, the patrol staff, HC Krishan and HC Ajay of PS Rani Bagh, received secret intelligence regarding autolifters operating in the area. The team spotted an individual riding a scooty who tried to escape by making a U-turn but was swiftly intercepted. The accused was identified as Swantantar Kumar. On checking, the scooty was found stolen, linked to e-FIR No. 004926/25 under section 305(b), registered at PS Rani Bagh. The accused was arrested and the stolen scooty was recovered and seized.
▶️*OPERATION -III*
*PS RANHOLA*
On 27th May 2025, the staff of PS Ranhola, HC Sandeep and Ct. Deepak, received secret information. Acting on it, the team laid a trap and spotted two individuals riding a motorcycle who tried to escape by making a U-turn but were intercepted promptly. The accused were identified as Sunil @ Pilura and Saurav Kumar. On checking, the motorcycle was found stolen linked to e-FIR No. 008061/25 dated 18.03.2025 under section 305(b) BNS, PS Ranhola, and on their instance another motorcycle stolen in case e-FIR No. 10062/25 dated 08.04.2025 under section 305(b), PS Rajouri Garden was recovered. During cursory search one country made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered. The accused were arrested and the stolen motorcycles and country made pistol and live cartridges were recovered and seized.
▶️*OPERATION -IV*
*PS PASCHIM VIHAR WEST*
On 27th May 2025, while patrolling near Nala Road, the patrol team of PS Paschim Vihar West comprising HC Bhupinder and Ct. Surinder noticed a suspicious individual riding a motorcycle. When signaled to stop, the rider attempted to flee but was successfully intercepted. He was identified as Nitin. Upon being asked to produce the vehicle’s documents, he failed to do so. A verification check revealed that the motorcycle was stolen and linked to e-FIR No. 14142/25, registered under Section 305(b) BNS at PS Nihal Vihar. Further at his instance another stolen motorcycle linked to e-FIR No. 11846/25, registered under Section 305(b) BNS at PS Nihal Vihar was recovered. The accused was arrested and the recovered motorcycles were seized.
▶️*OPERATION -V*
*ANTI AUTO THEFT SQUAD*
The Anti Auto Theft Squad of Outer District, received secret secret intelligence about a gang involved in vehicle thefts at Mangolpuri. Acting on it, the team laid a trap and intercepted two suspects riding a motorcycle. When asked to produce documents, they failed and verification through ZIPNET revealed the motorcycle was stolen in a case registered under e-FIR No. 006888/2025 at PS Nihal Vihar. The suspects, identified as Man Singh and Deepak were apprehended. Further investigation led to the recovery of a Tata 407 truck linked to e-FIR No. 012996/2025 dated 10.05.2025, PS Nihal Vihar, 01 mini truck stolen in e-FIR No. 036715/2024, PS Hari Nagar and a motorcycle stolen under e-FIR No. 009684/2025, PS Paschim Vihar West. Both accused were arrested and all stolen vehicles were seized.
▶️*OPERATION -VI*
*PS MUNDKA*
A). In the intervening night of 27th–28th May 2025, while patrolling near Mundka, the patrol staff spotted an individual riding on a motorcycle who tried to escape but the patrol staff managed to intercept him. The accused was identified as Vikas. On checking, one stolen motorcycle was recovered, linked to e-FIR No. 013877/25 under section 305(b) BNS, PS Mundka. The accused was arrested, and the stolen motorcycle was recovered and seized.
B). In the intervening night of 27th–28th May 2025, while patrolling near Mundka, the patrol staff received secret intelligence. The team spotted an individual who was riding the motorcycle and tried to escape by making a U-turn but was intercepted promptly. The individual was identified as a CCL. On checking, the stolen motorcycle was recovered, linked to e-FIR No. 08243/25 dated 19.03.2025 under section 305(b) BNS, PS Mundka. The CCL was apprehended and the stolen motorcycle was recovered and seized.
