PRESS RELEASE
Notorious robber and murderer, life convict, and parole absconder for the past 15 years, Dhirendra Tomar has been successfully apprehended by Team NDR/R.K. Puram from Bareilly, UP.
▶️ The fugitive was living in Bareilly, UP under a fake identity and working as a driver in a relative's household.
▶️ He was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case registered at PS New Ashok Nagar, Delhi.
▶️ Along with his associates, he committed four robbery-cum-murder cases involving cab drivers in Delhi and Uttarakhand in 2001
INTRODUCTION
    A dedicated team of NDR/R.K. Puram, led by Insp. Rakesh Kumar, has successfully apprehended parole absconder Dhirendra Singh Tomar (aged 45 years), resident of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. He was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in FIR No.77/2001 u/s 302/307/201/392/34 IPC PS New Ashok Nagar, Delhi. He was granted one-month parole on 03.11.10 but he absconded and remained at large for 15 years.
INCIDENT
        On 17.03.2001 A PCR call was received at PS New Ashok Nagar that 2 male dead bodies are lying near B-2, Mayur vihar Ph-III in a dump yard. Immediately, both were admitted in LBS hospital by police where one person was declared dead by doctors while 2nd one was survived. A case vide FIR no. 77/2001 u/s 302/307/201/392/34 IPC was registered at PS New Ashok Nagar and investigation was taken up. During the investigation, 2 accused persons Dhirendra and Dilip Negi were arrested by police and remaining 2 accused Ajay and Dheeraj were declared PO and charge sheet was filed. On 01.10.2007, both accused were convicted and sentenced for rigorous life imprisonment by the court of Sh. Praveen Kumar, ASJ, KKD court.   
     On 03/11/2010, accused Dhirendra was released on parole for one-month during serving his sentence. He has to surrender on 02.12.10 in the jail but he absconded and remained at large since then. 
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION
As per the directions of Senior Officers, Team of NDR/R.K.Puram, Crime Branch has been working to arrest the parole jumpers and proclaimed offenders. Following directions, a team led by Insp. Rakesh Kumar and comprising of Inspr. Anuj Kumar, SIs Amit Grewal, Yatander Malik, Narendra Singh, ASIs Vikas, Kamal, HCs Dinesh, Ravindra, Nahanji, Sukhbir, Irshad and Satyawan was assigned task to gather the information and verify the details of parole jumper namely Dhirender Singh Tomar. During verification, the team collected information at the last available address of the fugitive criminal and also procured the details of jail visitors and sureties. Team has visited his last known address at Sikanderpur, Shahjahanpur (UP) and it was found that accused has left this place and has gone to unknown place. Sincere efforts of team bore fruits when they came to know that the fugitive is working as a driver at his one relative’s in Ekta Nagar, Bareilly and changed his identity to Rajan Singh. Team rushed to Bareilly and camped there and stared to verify the fugitive and learnt that fugitive is residing in Vir Savarkar Colony, Ekta Nagar, Bareilly with his wife. Accordingly, a trap was laid in Ekta Nagar, Bareilly and the accused was successfully apprehended from there.  
INTERROGATION & PROFILE OF ACCUSED: 
   Accused Dhirender Singh Tomar age 46 yrs, is a permanent residence of Shahjahanpur, UP.  He is studied up to 12th pass. He was 19 yrs old at the time of incident. Accused Dhirendra, along with his associates, had hired a taxi from Jaipur to Delhi where he along with his associates  murdered the driver and co-passenger (the latter survived due to timely medical attention) and robbed his vehicle. During sustained interrogation, Dhirendra confessed to his involvement in three additional cases of murder, robbery, and abduction committed in Almora, Haldwani, and Lohaghat, Uttarakhand with his gang.  The gang’s modus operandi was to hire taxis from different locations, murder the drivers, rob the vehicles, and subsequently sell them in Nepal. It was also revealed that he along with his associates was involved in four cases of murder but his associates, Ajay and Dheeraj have never been apprehended in any case and both were declared Proclaimed Offender (PO) in instant case on 17.7.2001.
Accused Dhirendra was arrested in the case on 24.03.2001 and convicted for life imprisonment. He got parole on 03.11.2010 for one month, but didn’t surrender and absconded.
