A ‘PROCLAIMED OFFENDER WANTED IN CASE OF DELHI EXCISE ACT ARRESTED BY CYBER CELL EXCISE
ACCUSED AKHILESH WAS DECLARED ‘PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN FEBRUARY 2025 IN A CASE OF EXCISE ACT, IN DELHI
ACCUSED IS A REPEAT OFFENDER AND INVOLVED IN 18 CASES OF EXCISE ACT REGISTERED IN DELHI NCR
INTRODUCTION
A dedicated team of Cyber Cell, Crime Branch, Darya Ganj, Delhi led by Insp. Shiv Ram, under the supervision of Sh. Anil Sharma, ACP/Cyber Cell has arrested one desperate criminal namely Akhilesh R/o Sangam Vihar, Delhi, Age-38 Yrs., who has been declared Proclaimed Offender by the Ld. Court in case of Excise Act registered at PS Mehrauli, Delhi. Accused has been involved in 18 other cases registered in Delhi NCR.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION:
As per the directions of senior officers to trace wanted/absconding accused persons and keep vigil over the activities of desperate criminals, the team of Cyber Cell, Crime Branch, Delhi has been working through technical and ground surveillance. On 13/05/25, specific secret information was received by ASI Satypal Singh and HC Rajat that one absconding criminal namely Akhilesh involved in case of Excise Act, registered at PS Mehrauli, Delhi is hiding somewhere in Uttam Nagar area of Delhi.
A team comprising ASI Satypal Singh, HC Rajat and Ct. Shri Ram was constituted under the supervision of Inspector Shiv Ram and overall supervision of ACP Sh. Anil Sharma to apprehend the accused. On 13.05.2025, the team reached there and developed ground surveillance for the whereabouts of accused Akhilesh and located in Mohan Garden area, and he was apprehended by the team. Accordingly, he was arrested u/s 35(1)(D) BNSS and he has been produced before the concerned court.
INTERROGATION:
During interrogation, accused disclosed that he is illiterate and in want of money to fulfil daily needs of his family, he started illegal liquor selling and liquor supply in Delhi. The accused was procuring illicit liquor from Gurugram, Haryana, and distributing it across Delhi, specifically targeting slum clusters and unauthorized colonies in South Delhi. To evade law enforcement, accused utilized internal and less-patrolled routes for the transportation of illegal liquor. He has been previously involved in 18 cases related to the illegal sale and supply of liquor across Delhi-NCR.
