ONE PERSON WITH AN ILLEGAL WEAPON (KATTA) WAS ARRESTED BY THE STAFF OF PS NEW ASHOK NAGAR, DELHI 
    In a significant action to curb illegal arms possession and prevent potential criminal activities, the east district police achieved a success. 
    The vigilant staff of PS New Ashok Nagar apprehended one individual. 
    An illegal firearm (Katta) was recovered by the possession of accused.

INCIDENT & INVESTIGATION: -
To contain the growing incidents of snatching, burglary, and theft in the area of PS New Ashok Nagar, the staff under the supervision of Insp. Haroon Ahmed, SHO/ New Ashok Nagar, and overall guidance of ACP/Kalyanpuri, Delhi has increased the intensity of patrolling, picket checking, and other preventive efforts.
On 21/05/2025, while conducting routine patrol duty in the jurisdiction of PS New Ashok Nagar, Ct. Dharamraj received a tip-off from an informer regarding a suspicious individual in the area. Acting promptly, the constable reached Nala Road, near Pillar No. 267, Dallupura, Delhi, where he intercepted the suspect. On seeing police personnel, he got scared and started running away in lieu to escape but Ct. Dharamraj show alertness and reacted quickly, and apprehended him after a brief chase. When he was enquired for the reason to escape on seeing police, he was unable to give justified answer. Upon conducting a search, one illegal firearm (katta) was recovered from his possession. The suspect was immediately taken into custody. During the investigation, the identity of accused revealed as Sonu @ Salludin R/o East Vinod Nagar, Delhi. He confessed to having purchased the illegal weapon from an unidentified individual reportedly residing in Trilok Puri. Despite extensive efforts, no further leads on the supplier have been discovered as yet. A case has been registered at Police Station New Ashok Nagar under FIR No. 0274/25, dated 21.05.2025, under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act. Further investigation of the case is ongoing.

    Sonu @ Salludin R/o East Vinod Nagar, Delhi. 
Qualification: 8th Class.
Occupation: Works as Daily wages Labor. 
PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENT: - Accused Sonu @ Salludin has 05 previous criminal involvements.
RECOVERY: -
An illegal Weapon (Katta) has been recovered from his possession.
