INAUGURATION OF ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS SUMMER CAMP – 2025

Today, Sh. Ajay Chaudhary, Spl Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Delhi, inaugurated the Road Safety Awareness Summer camp at Traffic Training Park Punjabi Bagh in the presence of Sh. S.K. Singh, Dy. Commissioner of Police/Traffic- RSC, Sh. Ravinder Pandit, ACP/Traffic and Inspr. Manju Singh, TI/RSC. The summer camp was simultaneously inaugurated at the other 3 Traffic Training Parks located at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Bal Bhawan and Roshanara Bagh.
Addressing the students, Sh. Ajay Chaudhary, Spl. Commissioner of Police/Traffic urged the students to follow traffic rules and act as role models among their family members, peer groups and relatives. On the occasion, students of Tinu Public School presented the welcome song and students of Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) gave a nukkar natak performance on conservation of water.
Road Safety Cell of Delhi Traffic Police has been organizing Road Safety Awareness Summer Camp since 2015, with the objective of helping students utilize their summer vacations in a productive manner so that they learn some life saving skills that contribute to their overall personality development.
The summer camp will be organized in 3 batches, each of 5 days duration starting from today i.e. 19th May 2025 culminating on 6th June 2025. Around 100-150 students have been registered themselves for the summer camp in each batch. In addition to road safety and traffic rules, students will be given training in cyber safety, first-aid and CPR, gender sensitization and self-defense. The other highlights of the camp include interesting games and competitions based on road safety, training in traffic drill, field visits to intersections, nukkar natak on road safety and attractive prizes. Certificate of participation and road safety kit containing stationery items, t-shirts and caps will be distributed to all the participating students.
The summer camp has been receiving appreciation from all quarters and is a unique initiative that meaningfully engages students while raising awareness about importance of road safety norms.
