In accordance with the directions issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer District, all patrolling personnel have been thoroughly briefed and sensitized to maintain  vigilance across their respective areas of responsibility. Emphasis has been laid on proactive policing measures to ensure the maintenance of law and order, as well as to safeguard the safety and security of citizens within the jurisdiction of the Outer District.

▶️ *OPERATION AND INTERROGATION:*

On 28th May 2025, during routine patrolling near DDA Park, Peeragarhi Camp, vigilant beat officers HC Ajeet, HC Vishal and Ct. Parmod of PS Paschim Vihar East noticed a suspicious individual exiting the park carrying a white polythene bag. When the officers asked him to stop for verification, he attempted to flee. However, displaying alertness and presence of mind, the officers immediately chased and successfully apprehended him. The individual was later identified as Bhawani Singh.

Upon checking the bag in his possession, a total of eight water meters were recovered. During inquiry and verification, the recovered meters were found to be stolen and linked to multiple e-FIRs registered at PS Paschim Vihar East. These included, two water meters related to e-FIR No. 80046014/25 under sections 303(2)/317(2) BNS, one meter in e-FIR No. 80028996/25 under section 305 BNS, one meter in e-FIR No. 80042996/25 under sections 305/321(3) BNS, one meter in e-FIR No. 80042674/25 under section 305 BNS, one meter in e-FIR No. 80027659/25 under section 305 BNS and two meters in e-FIR No. 80015145/25 under section 305 BNS.

Further investigation revealed that the accused was also involved in two other theft cases, in e-FIR No. 80026293/25 under Section 303(2) BNS and e-FIR No. 80018864/25 under Sections 305/321 BNS both registered at PS Paschim Vihar East. No recovery was made in these cases and it was found that the stolen amount had been spent on drugs.

During interrogation, it came to light that the accused is a BC of PS Paschim Vihar East and has been previously involved in 14 other criminal cases.

The accused was arrested and all recovered items were seized.

⏩️ *MODUS OPERANDI:*

The accused used to steal water meters and water motors after conducting recce, and would dispose of the stolen articles through pedestrian scrap dealers.
