-A farewell ceremony was organized in the honour of Director General of Police Dr Ravi Prakash Meharda in the Rajasthan capital Jaipur on Monday in which he said, "The uniform has given us a golden opportunity to serve the common man." On this occasion, eight contingents of police participated in the ceremony organized at the parade ground of the Police Academy, which included two RPS trainees, one Hadi Rani women battalion, three trainee women constables and the fourth and fifth battalions. Senior police officers welcomed Dr Meharda on his arrival. On this occasion, Dr Meharda inspected the parade, after which all the contingents saluted him while marching in step to the melodious tune of the central band.(rr)
