TWO DESPERATE SNATCHERS-CUM-ROBBERS ARRESTED BY THE TEAM OF PS SARAI ROHILLA

•    THE ACCUSED WERE IDENTIFIED BY ANALYZING CCTV FOOTAGE AND CRIMINAL RECORDS.
•    THE SCOOTY USED IN CRIME RECOVERED.
•    ONE SNATCHING CASE SOLVED
•    THE ACCUSED WERE PREVIOUSLY INVOLVED IN SEVERAL CASES OF SNATCHING AND ROBBERY

BRIEF FACTS: 
             On 23.05.2025, a PCR call regarding snatching of a mobile phone was received at PS Sarai Rohilla on which local police reached the spot where complainant Mohd. Riyaz, r/o Shastri Nagar, Delhi, age 18 years reported that he works as a delivery boy in Swiggi (online food/goods delivery company). On 23.05.25, he took an order from Inderlok Insta Mart for the delivery of goods and at about 02:00 PM, when he reached near Pillar No. 181, Shastri Nagar on his Electric Scooty (EV), two persons riding on a scooty without helmets came there and took away his mobile phone, make One Plus Nord CE-3 Light-5G which was fixed on the stand of his Electric scooty and both of them fled away towards Subhadra Colony.

Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 316/25 dated 23.05.2025 u/s 304(2)/3(5) BNS was registered at PS Sarai Rohilla and the investigation was taken up accordingly.  

TEAM, INVESTIGATION & OPERATION:
Immediately, a dedicated police team comprising ASI Sanjay Kumar, ASI Pushkar, HC Rambabu, HC Amit and Ct Deepak was constituted, under the close supervision of Inspr. Jag Mohan Meena (Inspr. Investigation) and guidance of Shri Naresh Khanka, ACP/Sub-Division, Sarai Rohilla, Delhi.

During investigation in the case, several CCTV cameras installed nearby the spot and on the route followed by the culprits were checked and analyzed in which two persons were noticed on a scooty near the spot. The extracted photographs of the culprits and scooty were shown to the complainant, who identified them. Later, they were identified as active criminals of PS Sarai Rohilla namely (1) Angad @ Vikash Gaur, r/o L-Block Shastri Nagar, Delhi and (2) Jai Singh @ Jai, r/o E-Block Shastri Nagar, Delhi who were previously involved in several cases of Snatching and Robbery.

Further, intensive search operation by mounting technical surveillance and ground level intelligence was put into swing. With the continuous and tireless efforts of the team, the location of accused persons was revealed in Lankapuri Park, Sarai Rohilla. Efforts were made to locate them and both were apprehended from a park on 26.05.2025 during night hours. At their instance, the scooty, make TVS NTORQ used in the above snatching case was recovered and they have been arrested in this case.

INTERROGATION:
During interrogation, the accused persons disclosed that they are school dropouts and also drug addicts. To fund their needs for drugs and to earn easy money, they were committing crime for last several years.

Recently, they had taken a scooty from their friend Rahul @ Papla on the pretext of joy ride but they started committing crime on that scooty. In the afternoon of 23.05.25, they snatched a mobile phone near Pillar No. 181, Shastri Nagar in the above case and just after committing the offence, they sold the same for Rs. 2000/- to an unknown person who met them near Pul Mithai, Lahori Gate.

Further investigation of the case is under progress.    

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:
1.    Angad @ Vikash Gaur, r/o L-Block Shastri Nagar, Delhi, age 27 years. (Previously he was involved in 07 cases of Robbery and Snatching of Police Stations Sarai Rohilla and Budh Vihar, Delhi. He is an active criminal of the local area, committing crime for last 05 years).

2.    Jai Singh @ Jai, r/o E-Block Shastri Nagar, Delhi, age 28 years. (Previously he was involved in 05 cases of Snatching of Police Stations Bharat Nagar and Keshavpuram, Delhi. He was committing crime for last 07 years).

RECOVERY:
One Scooty, TVS NTORQ, used in commission of offence.
