*TWO DESPERATE AUTO-LIFTERS CUM SNATCHERS ARRESTED BY THE TEAM OF PS ROOP NAGAR*

    *THEY WERE CAUGHT BY POLICE TEAM AFTER CHASING ABOUT 100 METERS*
    *CARRY KNIFE TO THWART RESISTANCE FROM THE VICTIM*
    *THREE STOLEN TWO-WHEELERS AND 04 MOBILE PHONES RECOVERED*
    *02 CASES OF SNATCHING AND 03 CASES OF MVT SOLVED*

The staff of PS Roop Nagar, North District, Delhi had arrested two desperate auto-lifters cum snatchers namely (1) Dharmu, age 24 years and Sandeep, age 25 years, both residents of Rajpura Gurmandi, Delhi. One button actuated knife, 04 mobile phones and 03 stolen two-wheelers were recovered. 03 cases of MVT and 02 cases of snatching of different police stations of Delhi solved.

*TEAM & OPERATION:* 
To curb the street crimes like robbery, snatching, pick-pocketing and auto-theft in the jurisdictions of PS Roop Nagar of North District Delhi, a dedicated team comprising *ASI Amarjeet, HC Anil Kumar and Ct Sanwarmal* was constituted under the close supervision of *Inspr. Ramesh Chander, SHO/PS Roop Nagar and guidance of Ms. Vinita Tyagi, ACP/Sub-Division, Civil Lines, Delhi.*

Accordingly, on 20.05.2025 above said police team was deployed for performing intensive patrolling duty in the area of PS Roop Nagar. At about 09:30 PM, when the team reached near Roshanara Bagh, they noticed two suspected persons riding on a scooty without helmets coming from Subzi Mandi Gole Chakkar side; and when they were signaled to stop for checking and verification, they suddenly took U-turn and tried to run away. But the alert and active police team instantly sprang into the action and the scooty was intercepted and both the suspected persons were apprehended after about 100 meters chase. During their personal search, one button actuated knife was recovered from the possession of scooty rider who was identified as *Dharmu, age 24 years* and 04 stolen/snatched mobile phones were recovered from the possession of pillion rider who was identified as *Sandeep, age 25 years.*

Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 163/2025 dated 21.05.2025 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act & 106(1) BNSS was registered at PS Roop Nagar. Both the accused persons were arrested and further investigation was taken up accordingly.        

*INTERROGATION:*
During interrogation, accused Dharmu and Sandeep disclosed that they are school dropouts and drugs addicted. To fulfill their daily needs of drugs and easy earnings, they stole two-wheelers and commit crimes like snatching, robbery on the stolen vehicles. They also used to carry a button actuated knife to thwart any resistance from the victim while committing crime.

They further disclosed that about 04 days before, they had stolen a scooty, make Honda Activa from the area of Shakti Nagar, Delhi and they were using it for committing crime. At their instance, another scooty, make Honda Activa stolen from the area of PS Model Town and one motorcycle, make Honda Dream Yuga stolen from the area of PS Roop Nagar were also recovered. They also admitted that they had snatched mobile phones of several innocent people and they used to sell the snatched mobile phones to one *Danish @ Pramod @ Padwa r/o Pul Mithai, Delhi.* On the basis of their disclosure and CCTV footage, two cases of snatching of PS Roop Nagar and Subzi Mandi, Delhi have also been worked out.

Further investigation is under progress.

1.    *Dharmu,* r/o Rajpura Gurmandi, Model Town, Delhi, age 24 years. *(Previously he was involved in 04 cases of Snatching and Theft/Pick-pocketing of Police Stations Model Town, Adarsh Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. He was committing the crime for last 02 years).*    
2.    *Sandeep,* r/o Rajpura Gurmandi, Model Town, Delhi, age 25 years. *(Previously he was involved in 05 cases of Robbery, Burglary and Theft of Police Stations Model Town and Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. He was committing the crime for last six years).*

4.    One motorcycle, make Honda Dream Yuga, stolen in case e-FIR No. 026820/22 dated 17.09.22 u/s 379 IPC, PS Roop Nagar, Delhi.    
5.    04 mobile phones *(Yet to be connected with crime).*
