TECHNICAL SURVEILLANCE & FIELD INTELLIGENCE HELPED IN IDENTIFICATION & ARREST OF A SNATCHER CUM PICKPOCKET; BY TEAM OF PS NABI KARIM, CENTRAL DISTRICT

•    ONE SNATCHER CUM PICKPOCKET ARRESTED BY THE TEAM OF PS NABI KARIM, CENTRAL DISTRICT.
•    ACCUSED INVOLVED IN TWO SEPARATE CASES OF SNATCHING & PICKPOCKET.
•    ACCUSED IDENTIFIED THROUGH DETAILED CCTV ANALYSIS AND LOCAL INTELLIGENCE
•    ACCUSED IS AN ACTIVE HISTORY SHEETER OF PS PAHARGANJ 
•    ACCUSED HAS A HISTORY OF APPROX. 100 CRIMINAL CASES, INCLUDING THEFT, ROBBERY, AND NDPS ACT VIOLATIONS

BRIEF DETAIL OF INCIDENT:

On 04.06.2025, an incident of pickpocket/theft of Rs 48,500/-, near Bikaner Sweets, Multani Dhanda, Paharganj was reported at PS Nabi Karim. Accordingly, on the statement of the complainant, a case was registered at PS Nabi Karim vide FIR No. 258/2025, under Section 303(2) BNS.

In another incident, on 16.06.2025, a female complainant reported that her mobile phone was snatched by three individuals riding a scooty, again near Bikaner Sweets, Paharganj. An FIR was lodged at PS Nabi Karim vide FIR No. 274/2025, under Sections 304(2)/3(5) BNS.

TEAM AND OPERATION: 
Following the registration of cases, a dedicated team of PS Nabi Karim immediately initiated investigation. Given that both incidents occurred near Bikaner Sweets, Multani Dhanda, the team thoroughly examined CCTV footage from the area. The complainants were shown the visuals and positively identified the same suspect in both incidents.

With this lead, the team activated local intelligence sources, which helped confirm the identity of the accused as Arjun @ Chhanga @ Sudama R/o Gali No. 11, Multani Dhanda, Nabi Karim, Delhi.

On 04.07.2025, acting on specific inputs, the team apprehended the accused from the area. During interrogation, the accused confessed to both crimes. On checking records, it is found that the accused is a notorious repeat offender and has been declared a history sheeter of PS Paharganj.

Further investigation remains active, with recovery efforts and background checks ongoing to determine his links to other unsolved street crimes in the area.

ACCUSED ARRESTED: 
1.    Arjun @ Chhanga @ Sudama R/o Gali No. 11, Multani Dhanda, Nabi Karim, Delhi, Age 32 yrs.
He is an active history sheeter of PS Paharganj and has been previously involved in approximately 100 criminal cases, including theft, snatching, robbery, Arms Act violations, NDPS Act cases and other serious offences.
