🚨 *POLICE STATION: CYBER, OUTER DISTRICT* 🚨

▶️ *BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE:*

A complaint was received on the NCR Portal from Ms. X, alleging that an individual named Anup Bhati, with whom she came into contact via Facebook, had recorded her photographs and videos without her consent. Ms. X further stated that the accused used these recordings to extort money from her by threatening to circulate the content publicly. She also alleged that some of the said photos and videos had already been shared with her relatives by the accused. Additionally, the  accused has been continuously threatening to upload her nude photos and videos on social media platforms, causing her severe distress and harassment.

Based on the complaint, an FIR under Sections 77/78/79/351 of BNS was registered on 07.05.2025 and investigation was initiated.

⏩️ *TEAM CONSTITUTION:*

Considering the sensitivity of the case, a team comprising SI Hardeep Dhull, HC Vijay, HC Parkash, HC Pawan and HC Ramesh led by Insp. Gaje Singh, SHO/Police Station Cyber under the close supervision of Sh. Patil Swagat Rajkumar, ACP/ Paschim Vihar was constituted.

⏩️▶️ *INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION:*

Upon receipt of the complaint, a dedicated investigation team was constituted and sustained efforts were made to trace and apprehend the accused. A comprehensive and meticulous technical investigation was undertaken, which involved analysis of Facebook and Instagram profiles, mobile numbers, IP addresses, Call Detail Records (CDRs), IMEI data, linked email accounts and other digital footprints, based on inputs provided by the complainant.

This in-depth analysis enabled the development of critical technical intelligence, which suggested that the suspect, identified as Anup Keshri @ Anup Bhati, was residing in the vicinity of Greater Noida. Multiple raids were subsequently conducted at various identified locations; however, the accused was not found at those premises.

Undeterred by these initial setbacks, the team intensified its efforts by consolidating intelligence inputs and continuously tracking the suspect’s movements. Acting on specific technical leads, the team conducted an extensive door-to-door search in Village Khanpur, Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. On 14.05.2025, the search culminated in the successful location and arrest of the accused from a house where he had been hiding.

During interrogation, the accused admitted that he had been living separately from his wife since 2022, residing in various rented accommodations. He confessed to having developed a pattern of stalking women on social media platforms, attempting to befriend them to obtain undue favors. He further disclosed his prior involvement in a serious criminal case, wherein he had been arrested in case under Section 307 IPC of PS Begampur, for severely injuring a woman acquaintance.

The accused has been arrested in connection with the present case and all relevant electronic and material evidence recovered from him has been seized as per legal procedure.
