*ROBBERY CASE SOLVED WITHIN 24 HOURS BY ARRESTING A DESPERATE ROBBER -CUM- SNATCHER BY THE TEAM OF PP ANDHA MUGHAL, PS GULABI BAGH, NORTH DISTRICT*
• *HARD-CORE CRIMINAL HAVING INVOLVEMENTS IN 18 CASES, WHO HAD ROBBED MONEY RS. 9,500/- FROM THE VICTIM BY ASSAULTING HIM USING A SURGICAL BLADE ARRESTED.*
• *WEAPON OF OFFENCE I.E. BLOOD-STAINED SURGICAL BLADE AND PART OF ROBBED MONEY RS. 1,050/- RECOVERED.*
• *ONE MOTORCYCLE, MAKE HONDA DREAM YUGA, WHICH HE HAD STOLEN FROM THE AREA OF PS GULABI BAGH 03 WEEKS BEFORE ALSO RECOVERED AT HIS INSTANCE.*
• *HE IS AN ACTIVE CRIMINAL OF LOCAL AREA OF PS SARAI ROHILLA, WHO COMMITS CRIME TO FULFILL HIS DAILY NEEDS FOR DRUGGING.*
• *02 CASES OF ROBBERY AND MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT REGISTERED IN PS GULABI BAGH WORKED OUT WITH HIS ARREST.*
*INCIDENT:*
On 15.06.2025, a PCR call, vide DD No. III-VI-A, was received at PS Gulabi Bagh, stating that a boy had assaulted and attacked the caller with a sharp edged blade and robbed him of ₹9,500/-. The local police reached the spot and found that the victim had been taken to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital by the PCR vehicle. Subsequently, HC Krishan along-with other staff reached Bara Hindu Rao Hospital and collected the MLC. After treatment, the complainant namely Vinod Sharma, r/o Anand Parvat, Delhi, age 55 years (who does private job) was examined and his statement was recorded. The victim stated that on 15.06.25 at about 02:00 PM, he came from Ghaziabad and reached at Pratap Nagar Metro Station and was walking towards Shastri Nagar on foot. Meanwhile an unknown person approached him and he asked the complainant for money to buy drugs and alcohol. When he refused, that person attacked him with a surgical blade, which caused injuries on his left hand and the alleged person forcibly robbed ₹9,500/- from his pants pocket and fled away from the spot.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 171/25 dated 15.06.25 u/s 309(6)/311 BNS was registered on the statement of victim at PS Gulabi Bagh and further investigation was carried out by ASI Vinod.
*TEAM, INVESTIGATION & OPERATION:*
Sensing the gravity of the offence and to crack the case, a dedicated police team led by *SI Yogesh Kumar (In-charge PP Andha Mughal), comprising ASI Vinod, Ct Rahul, Ct Deepak, Ct Gaurav and W/Ct Sonal* was constituted, under the close supervision of *Inspr. Sandeep Kumar, SHO/PS Gulabi Bagh and guidance of Shri Sushil Kumar, officiating ACP/Sub-Division, Sarai Rohilla, Delhi.*
During the course of investigation, the team checked CCTV cameras near the spot, but none were found operational. Further, the team activated their informers based on the description provided by the complainant. On the basis of secret information and his criminal record, the robber was identified as *Ankush @ Jugnu,* r/o DDA Flats, Sarai Basti, Sarai Rohilla, Delhi. The team also came to know that the culprit Ankush @ Jugnu is an active criminal of local area of PS Sarai Rohilla, who is also a drug addicted. After verifying his dossier, the team kept a watch outside his house overnight, but he did not return to house deliberately. However, the team continued their efforts in search of the culprit involved in commission of present offence. Finally on 16.06.25, while searching in Daya Basti, the team received a tip-off that Ankush @ Jugnu was roaming near the Railway Line beyond Kishanganj Railway Station. They reached there and successfully apprehended the accused. *Part of robbed money i.e. Rs. 1,050/- also recovered from his possession at the spot.*
*INTERROGATION:*
On interrogation, the accused person disclosed that he is addicted to drugs and alcohol so commits crimes like theft, snatchings, robbery and auto-lifting etc. to fund his daily needs for addiction. He also confessed about to his role in commission of robbery of cash from the victim by assaulting him with the help of a surgical blade on 15.06.25 during afternoon near Pillar No. 118 Pratap Nagar Metro Station. Further, he disclosed that out of robbed amount i.e. ₹9,500/-, only the cash ₹ 1,050/- was left with him, as he had spent the remaining amount on drugs and alcohol with his known persons. He also disclosed that the blade used in crime was hidden by him in a damaged house in same locality, which was traced & recovered on his instance.
On sustained interrogation, the accused person also revealed that about 03 weeks ago he had stolen a motorcycle make Honda Dream Yuga from the area of M-Block, Pratap Nagar, Delhi and he was using that two-wheeler for committing offences and he had left it abandoned nearby Super Market DA Flats, while it ran out of petrol. Consequently, on his instance one motorcycle, bearing registration No. DL6SAU553-II was also recovered, which was found as stolen in case E-FIR No. 014405/25 dated 24.05.25 u/s 305(b) BNS, PS Gulabi Bagh, Delhi.
*PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON:*
• *Ankush @ Jugnu,* r/o DDA Flats, Sarai Basti, Sarai Rohilla, Delhi, age 39 years. (Previously he was found involved in 18 cases of Robbery, Snatching, Night Burglary, NDPS Act, Arms Act of Police Stations Gulabi Bagh, Sarai Rohilla, Sadar Bazar and Roop Nagar, Delhi. He is an active criminal of local area of PS Sarai Rohilla, Delhi, who was released from jail in the month of January-2024. He is committing crimes for more than 09 years).
