
Purna Chandra Badavath was arrested
Purna Chandra Badavath was arrested by the Chikkadpally police in Hyderabad in the Tv Journalist and Anchor Swetcha Votarkar death case on Sunday, after parents lodged a complaint against Purna Chandra and alleges he is responsible for Swetcha ’s death.
The case took a turn after Swetcha’s father, Shankar Votarkar, alleged that Purna Chandra Badavath had been harassing his daughter for the past three years under the pretext of marriage.
Swetcha's mother also alleged that Purna Chandra Badavath was a colleague at T-New and he was claiming that he works as PA of MP Santosh Kumar and by misusing his position he was trapped Swetcha and he is responsible for her death.
Swetcha Votarkar's daughter made serious allegations that Purna Chandra Badavath was misbehaving with her, in the absence of her mother Swetcha and Purna Chandra always tried to keep me away from my mother.
Police took up the investigation, which has now led to his arrest. The probe is ongoing.
Purna Chandra was detained and taken into custody in the early hours of Sunday after he appeared before them with his lawyer.
Purna Chandra Badavath’s advocate in this case, Sravan Kumar, addressed the media outside the Chikkadpally police station on Sunday and said that he was booked under sections 69 (sexual intercourse with false promise of marriage) and 109 (abetment of suicide) of the BNS Act. "Another FIR was booked under sections of the POCSO Act based on a statement by Swetcha’s daughter."
After arrested by the Chikkadpally police, Purna Chandra Badavath was presented before the Court and he was sent to 14-day judicial remand by the court.
Swetcha Votarkar, 40, was found dead at her residence in Jawahar Nagar on Friday. She is survived by her 13-year-old daughter. Her body was discovered hanging in her home, and the initial case was registered as a suspicious death pending the post-mortem report from Gandhi Hospital.
