Patny Nala Overflows due to Heavy Rains, Submerges nearby colonies due to Nala Encroachments by one family, Residents are rescued in boats

Many low-lying areas were inundated due to Heavy Rains in Hyderabad on Friday.

HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath inspects the flooded areas in the boat and monitors the relief activities.

The HYDRAA took steps to widen Patny Nala, after removing the encouragement, following complaints that their colonies are submerging in water every year during the monsoon. However, the work was stopped after a house owner obstructed it, citing Court stay.

Locals allege that this has led to the same problem as in the past.  Those trapped in their houses were shifted to safer areas with the help of DRF personnel in boats. HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath visits the flooded area near the Patny Nala, and monitoring, shifting people to safer areas in boats.
