Now the municipal bodies will issue licenses for hotels, guest houses, amusement parks

A major change has been made in the licensing process to make business easier in the capital. Now the licenses for seven works like hotels, guest houses, swimming pools, video game parlors, auditoriums and amusement parks will be issued by the municipal bodies and the concerned departments instead of the police. The Delhi government has taken this step to simplify and speed up the licensing process for businessmen.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena for this decision. The Chief Minister said that this is a gift from the double engine government. From now on, licenses will be issued by bodies like Municipal Corporation, New Delhi Municipal Council and Cantonment Board. Earlier this responsibility was with the police, due to which businessmen used to face delay in getting the license.
