    NATIONAL-LEVEL WRESTLER TURNED ARMS SUPPLIER/DESPERATE CRIMINAL HAS BEEN ARRESTED BY ARSC AFTER 8 YEARS HUNT; DECLARED PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN 2016 ARMS ACT CASE
    HE HAS ALSO BEEN DECLARED A PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN ARMS ACT CASE REGISTERED in 2016 AT POLICE STATION CRIME BRANCH, DELHI.

INTRODUCTION:
           A team of ARSC/Crime Branch led by Insprs. Mangesh Tyagi and Robin Tyagi, under the supervision of Sh. Arvind Kumar, ACP/ARSC, has arrested a dreaded criminal namely ‘Sonu @ Pahalwan@ Sonu Langada’ S/o Baljor Singh r/o Village- Kirthal, PS ramala, District-Baghpat, U.P Age-32 Years after an intensive, prolonged manhunt spanning eight years who is declared a Proclaimed Offender in a Arms  Act case of PS Crime Branch, Delhi. The arrest was made on 29.05.2025 from his native village.
BRIEF FACTS:
    On 06.04.2016, team of Crime Branch, Prashant Vihar, received a tip-off that Rahul alias Sunny and Vikash alias Vicky, both suspected to be directly involved in the then murder case of cable operator Devindra Rathi , were planning to arrive in Sector-36, Rohini, allegedly to target the victim’s brother in a follow-up attack. Recognizing the urgency and gravity of the information, a specialized team was immediately dispatched to the location. The operation culminated in the successful arrest of both accused individuals, preventing a potential second act of violence. During the arrest, the police recovered a cache of illegal arms, including one pistol, one country-made firearm, and 10 live cartridges. Further, they both individuals disclosed that the illegal arms and ammunition had been supplied by one Sonu alias Pahalwan alias Sonu Langada, a resident of Village Kirthal, Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. Hence, case FIR No 47/16 u/s 25 Arms Act was registered at PS Crime Branch, Delhi. Despite multiple efforts to trace him, Sonu evaded his arrest and was subsequently declared a Proclaimed Offender on June 29, 2017, by the Hon’ble Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, North District, Rohini Courts, Delhi. The case remains under active trial before the Hon’ble Chief Judicial Magistrate at Rohini Courts. Investigative agencies are pursuing all leads to ensure Sonu Langada is brought to justice and the illegal arms supply chain, he operated is dismantled.    
 
INFORMATION TEAM & OPERATION:

    A dedicated team of ARSC/Crime Branch was tasked with maintaining surveillance on Proclaimed Offenders (POs) involved in heinous crimes. As part of this ongoing operation, on 29.05.2025, SI Pramod Kumar was received credible secret information regarding a wanted criminal, ‘Sonu @ Pahalwan@ Sonu Langada’, a Proclaimed Offender in a arms act case. Acting on a combination of technical surveillance and manual intelligence, a team comprising SI Pramod Kumar, ASI Prempal, HC Gaurav Chaudhary and HC Mintu departed from Delhi on the same day and reached village- Kirthal, PS Ramala, District-Baghapt,U.P. After an exhaustive 1 hour operation, the team successfully located and arrested the accused from his village.    
INTERROGATION:
    Following his arrest, the accused was subjected to an intensive interrogation; the accused revealed that he was once a national-level wrestler. His promising athletic career was tragically cut short in 2013 following a devastating road accident that resulted in the amputation of his right leg. Faced with financial hardship and personal loss, he admitted to aligning himself with criminal elements in a desperate bid to support his family. He, along with a group of accomplices, has since been implicated in multiple heinous crimes, including dacoity and murder. Further investigation revealed that he was actively involved in the illicit arms trade, supplying firearms and supply of liquor to various criminal networks.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED:    
Accused ‘Sonu @ Pahalwan@ Sonu Langada’ was born in village Kirthal, Baghpat, UP in 1992 and studied up to 10th class. He is living with his family including his mother, father, wife and two kids. Besides the criminal activity, he is also engaged in farming in his village.
PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENT-
He is a notorious history-sheeter, with a long trail of serious criminal cases registered against him in Uttar Pradesh. His criminal record includes 06 heinous cases, ranging from murder, dacoity, attempt to murder, kidnapping with murder, and rape, SC/ST Act, Arms Act, and the UP Excise Act and details of ther same are as follows:-
