AN INTERSTATE GANG OF AUTO-LIFTERS BUSTED WITH THE ARREST OF ITS TWO MEMBERS, BY THE TEAM OF PS ROOP NAGAR, NORTH DISTRICT, DELHI

•    TWO AUTO-LIFTERS NABBED WITH THE HELP OF TECHNICAL ANALYSIS AND GROUND LEVEL INPUTS BY THE TEAM OF PS ROOP NAGAR, DELHI.

•    04 STOLEN CARS AND 01 CAR USED FOR COMMISSION OF CRIME RECOVERED.

•    DEVICES USED IN COMMITTING THEFT RECOVERED.

•    02 MOBILE PHONES USED FOR COMMUNICATION FOR COMMISSION OF CRIME RECOVERED.

•    04 CASES OF MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT REGISTERED IN POLICE STATIONS ROOP NAGAR, BHARAT NAGAR, KIRTI NAGAR AND BUDH VIHAR HAVE BEEN WORKED OUT WITH THEIR ARREST.  

The team of PS Roop Nagar, North District, Delhi has arrested two notorious auto-lifters namely Javed r/o Village Alipur, near Pakki Chaupal, Delhi, age 23 years and Abhimanyu @ Mannu, r/o Handipana, Alipur, Delhi, age 34 years and solved 04 cases of Motor Vehicle Theft registered in Police Stations Roop Nagar, Budh Vihar, Bharat Nagar and Kiriti Nagar, Delhi.

INCIDENT:
On 13.07.2025, an online e-FIR No. 019252/25 u/s 305(b) was registered at PS Roop Nagar by the complainant Shri Anuj Gupta, r/o Shakti Nagar, Delhi, regarding theft of his Mariti Suzuki Ciaz car from outside his house during early in the morning hours. Accordingly, the investigation was entrusted to HC Rajkumar.

TEAM, INVESTIGATION & OPERATION:
Immediately, a dedicated police team led by SI Rahul Garg, comprising ASI Mithlesh, HC Rajkumar, HC Rajneesh, HC Amit, HC Sobir Rathi, Ct Adesh, Ct Sourabh and Ct Sanwarmal was formed, under the close supervision of Inspr. Ramesh Chander Kaushik, SHO/PS Roop Nagar guidance of Ms. Vinita Tyagi, ACP/Sub-Division, Civil Lines, Delhi and the team was tasked to nab the offenders and recover the stolen vehicle.

During investigation, the team acted swiftly on the incident and the footage of CCTV cameras of the place of incident and the vicinity were checked and analyzed. After checking and trailing nearly 200 CCTV cameras, the stolen car Maruti Suzuki Ciaz was found parked in Keshav Nagar, Burari, Delhi. Instantly, the team reached there and a strategic trap was laid with the help of ground level inputs and two accused persons identified as Javed, age 23 years and Abhimanyu @ Mannu, age 34 years were arrested on 13.07.2025 and the stolen car was taken into police possession. On their instance 02 more cars were recovered and seized.

Subsequently, their 04-days police custody remand was obtained from the Hon’ble Court. During police remand, further recovery of 02 more cars stolen by them was done. One device used for making duplicate remote car keys and 25 duplicate remote car keys were also recovered on their instance and seized.

INTEROGATION:
During interrogation, accused persons disclosed that they knew each other for a long time. They worked as a gang including other members. They stole cars from different areas of Delhi-NCR and sold the same to other gang members who further supply the stolen cars in different states in India. On 13.07.25 early in the morning, they along-with another accomplice namely Rizwan r/o Delhi had come by using a stolen car to Shakti Nagar area and stole one Ciaz car from there and parked the same in Keshav Nagar, Burari, Delhi. When after some hours, they went to pick-up that car for further supply they were caught by the alert police team. They further disclosed that their other accomplices sold the spare parts of stolen cars in Mayapuri Car Market, Delhi.

The investigation of this case is in progress and efforts are going on to ascertain the role of other associates indulged in this nexus.  

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:
1.    Javed, r/o Village Alipur, Delhi, age 23 years. (He has studied up to 12th standard and he is a driver by profession, but not satisfied with his earnings, so indulged in stealing the cars to fund his daily needs and living a lavish lifestyle).       
2.    Abhimanyu @ Mannu, r/o Alipur, Delhi, age 34 years. (He is a school dropout and has studied up to 8th standard only. He used to work in a car washing centre but not satisfied with his earnings so indulged in stealing the cars with his other associates to fund his daily needs and to living a lavish lifestyle).    

RECOVERY:
1.    04 Stolen Cars.
2.    01 Car, make Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, used in commission of crime. (Owned by accused Abhimanyu). 
3.    01 Device used for making duplicate remote car keys.
4.    25 duplicate remote car keys. 
5.    02 mobile phones used for communication for commission of crime.

4.    Case e-FIR No. 019107 u/s 305(b) BNS, PS Budh Vihar, Delhi. (Recovery of car, make Maruti Suzuki Baleno).
