Following a detailed and constructive discussion between the Hon’ble Health Minister, DME Sir, and representatives of the Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA), the following key decisions and assurances have been made:
*1. Stipend Hike (G.O.Ms.No.90, dated 28.06.2025)*
The Government has approved a 15% enhancement in stipends, effective immediately.
Pending arrears from January 2025 will be cleared.
Applicable to:
House Surgeons (MBBS/BDS Interns)
Postgraduate Degree, Diploma, Dental, and Super Speciality students
Senior Residents
*2. Budget Release for Regularisation of Stipend Payments*
A Budget Release Order (BRO) of ₹291 Crores (Sl. No. 10) has been issued:
In relaxation of all four quarters.
To ensure full and immediate disbursal of all pending stipends.
Moving forward, stipend disbursement will be streamlined and ensured by the 10th–15th of every month without fail.
*3. Faculty Recruitment*
A notification has been released for recruitment of 607 Assistant Professor posts under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME).
Promotions to Associate Professor, Professor, and Additional DME posts will follow shortly with no delay.
These steps aim to fill all existing vacancies and address faculty shortages across government medical colleges.
*4. Infrastructure Commitments*
The Government has assured that infrastructure issues in government medical colleges will be addressed on priority, all the peripheral colleges will be taken on priority.
The *MCMC Committee*, tasked with evaluating infrastructure gaps, will submit its report to the Hon’ble Chief Minister within 10–15 days.
The Hon’ble Health Minister has agreed to include student representatives in the committee to provide ground-level inputs.
Necessary funding will be arranged, and visible improvements are expected in the near future.
*5. Private Medical Colleges – Stipend Issues*
The Government has assured that stringent actions will be taken.
Reports concerning private college stipend issues have been submitted to the NMC, addressing the concerns of students.
*6. Scholarships and Reimbursement*
The Government has assured that scholarships and fee reimbursement issues will be taken up on priority, with resolutions to follow soon.
*Conclusion*
In light of the positive resolutions and assurances from the Government, and following fruitful deliberations with the T-JUDA State Panel, we hereby declare the official withdrawal of the proposed JUDA strike that was scheduled to begin on 30th June 2025.
We remain hopeful and committed to continued collaboration with the Government to ensure the welfare of junior doctors, improvement in medical education, and quality healthcare services across Telangana.
