•    MORE THAN 200 CCTV CAMERAS WERE ANALYSED TO IDENTIFY THE ROUTE TAKEN BY THE ACCUSED.
•    ACCUSED STOLE THE BIKE TO PLEASE HIS NEWLY WED WIFE
•    STOLEN BIKE RECOVERED.

NCIDENT:
On 15.05.2025, an incident of Motor Vehicle Theft was reported vide case E-FIR No. 013474/25 u/s 305(b) BNS at PS Civil Lines, Delhi. Complainant Azad Singh, r/o Dayalpur, Delhi, age 37 years reported that he worked in a private company at Civil Lines. On 15.05.2025 at about 09:45 AM, he came to his office and parked his motorcycle near the parking lot of Civil Line Metro Station, Delhi. In the evening at about 06:15 PM, when he came back, his motorcycle was found stolen by someone.    

TEAM, INVESTIGATION & OPERATION:
Immediately, a dedicated police team, led by SI Ashok Kumar, comprising HC Anil Kumar, HC Vivek and HC Satish was constituted, under the close supervision of Inspr. Hanumant Singh, SHO/PS Civil Lines and guidance of Ms. Vinita Tyagi, ACP/Sub-Division, Civil Lines to nab the culprits and to recover the stolen motorcycle.

The above staff reacted swiftly and checked CCTV footages at nearby places of incident in which one person was noticed stealing the bike. Further, the team worked continuously for 5 days and checked about 220 CCTV cameras by covering a distance of about 18 kilometres on the route taken by the suspect from Civil Lines to Tronica City, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP. After that, the team developed local sources/intelligence and succeeded in the identification of the suspect as one Qamar Alam residing in Aman Colony, Loni, Tronica City, Ghaziabad, UP.

The above team laid strategic trap in Aman Colony, Loni for 24 hours and on 20.05.2025, the above team succeeded in apprehending the suspect along-with the stolen motorcycle. The accused was identified as Qamar Alam, age 20 years. Accordingly, the accused was arrested in above said case and he was interrogated thoroughly.

INTERROGATION:
During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he is working as a labourer and doing the work for loading and unloading the goods in a factory at Tronica City, Loni, UP. He was got married about a week before and his wife was insisting him for riding on a two-wheeler. On 15.05.2025, he had come to ISBT, Kashmere Gate for some work when he was going back to his house in the afternoon, he noticed many two-wheelers parked near Metro Station Gate No. 3 of Civil Lines. At that time, he was carrying a duplicate key of a motorcycle. So, he planned to steal a motorcycle from that area. He applied the key on a Hero Splendor motorcycle and it got unlocked. Then he took away the same towards his home in Loni, Ghaziabad. Later on, while on the way, he removed the backside registration number plate of that motorcycle and hurled the same in the gutter and after reaching his home, he also removed the front side number plate and he was using the motorcycle for his personal use as well as to give ride to his wife. He was also in search of a customer to sell the stolen motorcycle in order to evade his arrest from the police. At his instance, front side number plate of the motorcycle was also recovered.

Qamar Alam, r/o Aman Colony, Loni, Tronica City, Ghaziabad, UP, age 20 years.

RECOVERY:
1.    One motorcycle, make Hero Splendor 
2.    One duplicate key, used to steal the bike
