BRIEF

    The staff of Cyber Police Station, Rohini Distt. has done a commendable job by busting a gang of persons namely (1) Sachin r/o Sector 22 Rohini, Delhi, aged 35 years, (2) Karu raj @ Amarjeet r/o Rithala, Sector 5 Rohini, Delhi, aged 21 years and (3) Akash @ Vishal @ KD r/o Pooth Kalan, Delhi, aged 28 years, who used to sweep the bank accounts by misusing the stolen/snatched phones.

INCIDENT
An online complaint on the NCRP portal regarding cheating was received at PS Cyber, Rohini District. The complainant alleged in his complaint that he had been duped out of an amount of ₹ 1,36,210 by the fraudulent transactions. He stated that his mobile phone was lost on 04.04.2025. Further, he doubts someone has withdrawn money from his bank account by misusing his lost phone. Accordingly, on the statement of the complainant, a case vide FIR No. 47/2025 u/s 318(4)/3(5) BNS was registered at PS Cyber/Rohini and investigation of the case was taken up.

TEAM
In order to solve the case and apprehend the criminals, a team comprising SI Ajit Singh, HCs Manoj, Naveen & Satish and W/HC Pragya was constituted and led by Inspr. Praveen Chauhan, SHO/Cyber Police Station, Rohini District under the supervision of Sh. Ishwar Singh, ACP/Operations Cell/Rohini.

INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION
        During the course of the investigation, the details of the accounts of the complainant were obtained from the bank and analyzed, which revealed that all the money had been withdrawn from ATMs at different locations in Rohini. Subsequently, the team was immediately dispatched to the hideouts of the accused. Further, CCTV footage of the alleged transaction was obtained and scrutinized. In the footage, 2 persons can be seen withdrawing cash from an ATM. Further, with the help of a local informer both persons were identified as Sachin and Vishal @ KD.
         Accordingly, a raid was conducted at the hideout. After seeing the police, accused Sachin tried to escape but after a brief chase he was arrested and interrogated. During interrogation, accused Sachin disclosed that he works with one person namely Akash @ Vishal @ KD, who used to ask for mule accounts for depositing the amount and after depositing the cheated money, Sachin immediately withdraws it from different ATMs located in Rohini. He further submitted that one person namely Karuraj, who is running a CSC center in Rithala, Delhi, used to provide mule accounts.
Further, Karuraj joined the investigation of the case but tried to mislead the interrogation and did not cooperate and later he was arrested. One account opening register in which there were entries of all four accounts in which cheated money had been transferred and one phone having money transactions were found in his PhonePe account with the accused Sachin recovered. During interrogation, Karu Raj admitted his involvement in the crime, Who disclosed that he is an authorized agent of Indian Overseas Bank. Further submitted that he used to get documents and signatures on account opening forms without their knowledge from those who used to come to his CSC centers for his/her work. He further disclosed that he got in touch with a local burglar/snatcher who used to bring snatched/stolen phones and after that, he with the help of Sachin started siphoning the money from the accounts linked with the mobile number in the snatched/stolen phone.
On the instance of the accused person, 3 mobile phones, one register and ₹ 17,000/- have been recovered from their possession.

PROFILE OF THE ARRESTED PERSON

1. Sachin is a resident of Sector 22 Rohini, Delhi and 35 years old. He has studied upto 12th.
2. Karuraj @ Amarjeet is a resident of Rithala, Sector 05 Rohini, Delhi and 21 years old. He has done his B.Tech.
3. Akash @ Vishal @ KD is a resident of Pooth Kalan, Delhi and 28 years old.
