FIVE ILLEGAL BANGLADESHI IMMIGRANTS APPREHENDED IN DELHI NCR
In a focused operation under the ongoing special drive to identify and act against illegal immigrants, the East District Police have successfully apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in the national capital region. The individuals, including three minors, had unlawfully entered India through unauthorized riverine routes near the Indo-Bangladesh border.
The accused were residing in the Anand Vihar area, East Delhi, attempting to evade detection. Their apprehension marks a critical step in the continued enforcement efforts of Delhi Police to ensure internal security and uphold immigration laws.
SPECIAL TEAM AND TASKING
To ensure a structured approach, a dedicated team of the Special Staff was constituted under the leadership of Inspector Jitendra Malik, operating under the close supervision of Shri Pawan Kumar, ACP/Operations, and overall guidance of the undersigned.
The team carried out intensive surveillance using both human intelligence (HUMINT) and technical surveillance, leading to credible information about the suspects' presence and activities.
DETAILS OF THE INCIDENT
On 28.05.2025, acting on specific intelligence inputs, a raid was carried out by the Special Staff in the Anand Vihar area. During the operation, five individuals of Bangladeshi origin, including three minors, were detained.
During sustained questioning, the individuals failed to provide any documents establishing Indian nationality. Additionally, digital evidence found on their mobile devices, including photographs of Bangladeshi identity documents, confirmed their illegal status in India.
The details of the apprehended individuals are as follows:
1. Md Shaheen, S/o Md Javed Ali (Age: 30)
2. Rujeena, W/o Md Shaheen (Age: 26)
3. “Y” S/o M.S. (Age: 14 yrs.)
4. “R” D/o M.S. (Age: 9 yrs.)
5. “A” S/o M.S. (Age: 4 yrs.)
All residents of Village Shimulbari, P.O. Miyapara, P.S. Phulbari, District Kurigram, State Rangpur, Bangladesh.
FURTHER ACTION
In compliance with due legal process, the deportation proceedings for the individuals have been initiated in coordination with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Delhi.
Delhi Police reiterates its commitment to maintaining law and order and addressing issues of illegal immigration with utmost seriousness.
This operation is part of a broader drive launched on November 19, 2024, by the East District Police to identify illegal immigrants. Since the commencement of the drive, 20 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants have been identified and deported so far. Efforts are ongoing to detect more illegal immigrants residing in the district.
