🚨 *POLICE STATION: RANI BAGH* 🚨

▶️ *BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE:*

On 25.06.2025, a PCR call was received regarding an incident of chain snatching that took place in front of Ekta Boutique, Rishi Nagar, Rani Bagh, Delhi. As per the complainant, she was on her way from her residence to a nearby aerobic centre. When she reached near the centre, a TVS Jupiter scooty approached her. The vehicle was being driven by a male, while a female wearing a pink-coloured suit was seated as the pillion rider. The pillion rider suddenly snatched the complainant's gold chain, and both the accused fled the spot immediately on the scooty.

Accordingly, In this regard a case vide FIR No 167/25, Dated 25/06/25, U/s 304(2)/3(5)/117(2) BNS was registered at PS Rani Bagh, Delhi.

▶️▶️ *TEAM CONSTITUTION:*

Sensing the gravity of the offense a dedicated team consisting of HC Anil, HC Ravi, Ct. Somender, Ct. Sunil, Ct. Ajay, Ct. Dinesh in the supervision of Insp. Prabhanshu Kumar SHO/Rani Bagh and under the overall supervision of Sh. Murari Lal, ACP/Mangol Puri was constituted.

▶️ *OPERATION AND INTERROGATION:*

During the course of investigation, the dedicated police team thoroughly examined more than 300 CCTV cameras installed in and around the vicinity of the crime scene, as well as at potential destination routes. Upon meticulous analysis of the footage, a couple riding a TVS Jupiter Scooty (used in the commission of the crime) was observed and the registration number of the vehicle was captured. Subsequent verification on ZIPNET revealed that the scooty had been reported stolen from PS Nihal Vihar vide FIR No. 017466 dated 25.06.2025.

The team then traced the route taken by the suspects using a sequence of CCTV footage. Their trail led investigators to Nangloi, where a secret informer identified the suspects as Rahul @ Mota @ Karan and a female associate, both residents of Sultanpuri. A targeted raid was immediately planned and executed at their residence; however, the accused were found to be absconding.

Simultaneously, local intelligence sources were activated. Based on reliable inputs, it was learned that the accused were currently hiding in the Hastsal area of Uttam Nagar.

Multiple coordinated raids were conducted at identified locations, and after rigorous efforts, both accused persons were successfully apprehended. The TVS Jupiter Scooty used in the crime, which had been stolen from PS Nihal Vihar, was recovered. Additionally, a stolen gold chain weighing approximately 2 tolas was recovered and seized from their possession.

Both accused persons have been formally arrested, and all recovered items have been seized in connection with the case.

• Rahul @ Mota @ Karan S/O Shri Aman @ Abhinash  R/o Uttam Nagar, Age- 30 years.

▶️▶️ *MODUS OPERANDI:*

The couple operated as a team, wherein they would first steal a vehicle and subsequently use the stolen vehicle to commit snatching and robbery offences. This layered approach was intended to conceal their identity and hinder tracing by law enforcement agencies.
