DUO OF AUTO-LIFTERS ARRESTED; 03 STOLEN TWO-WHEELERS RECOVERED BY AATS, SOUTH DISTRICT.

03 CASES OF AUTO-THEFT WORKED OUT

INTRODUCTION:-

    The team of AATS, South District has done commendable work by arresting a duo of active auto-lifters namely Md. Gufran and Md. Arman u/s 35.1 (e) B.N.S.S. dated 22.06.2025, PS Saket. Upon their instance, 03 stolen two wheelers were recovered and 03 cases were worked out successfully.

BRIEFING OF THE STAFF:-

    The team of AATS,  South District was specifically tasked to keep vigil on the activities of the criminals especially indulged in auto-lifting & snatching. Accordingly, the staff initiated sincere efforts by sensitizing local informers and collecting human intelligence. Consequently, the patrolling was intensified at the vulnerable areas for prevention and detection in the area. The staff was continuously putting efforts to arrest the criminals of different gangs.  

INFORMATION AND DETECTION –

    Accordingly, the staff posted at AATS/South District collected some vital inputs through analysis of crime trend, modus operandi, CCTV footages, technical surveillance, as well as manual information. The collected inputs were further refined through the manual information system as well. While  analysing the CCTV footage on the intervening night of 11/12 June 2025 related to a motorcycle theft in D-Block, Sangam Vihar, three suspects were spotted committing the crime. Accordingly, a team comprising ASI Maqsood, HC Kamal Prakash, HC Virender, HC Brijesh, Ct. Devender, Ct. Arvind led by Insp. Umesh Yadav, I/C AATS/SD under the close supervision of Sh. Arvind Kumar, ACP/Operations, South District was formed to act swiftly. Hence, the photos of the alleged suspects were developed through technical apparatus and circulated within police net to get their identity. The team expanded on this lead through a network of confidential informants and detailed technical analysis, uncovering vital details about the alleged persons. Local sources were deployed and human intelligence was collected. Subsequent technical analysis and local intelligence led to the identification of two alleged suspect as Md. Gufran and Md. Arman. Through surveillance and technical analysis the location of the alleged persons were zeroed down. A raid was conducted and both were strategically apprehended from the Khanpur Red Light and Sangam Vihar areas through a well-coordinated operation. Upon their instance, 03 stolen two wheelers were recovered. Upon interrogation, both accused confessed to their involvements in multiple two-wheeler thefts.

PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED PERSONS ARRESTED:-

1.Gufran S/o Sahabuddin, R/o I-Block, Sangam Vihar, New Delhi. Age 24 years.
2.Arman S/o Kiyamuddin, R/o I-Block, Sangam Vihar, New Delhi. Age 23 years.

RECOVERY:

01 stolen motorcycle and 02 stolen scooty.
