​With the arrest of 01 desperate snatcher namely, Sameer @ Asif S/o Nanhay R/o Jahangir Puri, Delhi, Age-22 Years, staff of PS Mahendra Park recovered snatched mobile phone of the complainant. Accused Sameer is found to be a habitual offender, previously involved in 02 cases of snatching. He started committing crime to earn easy money.

*Brief Facts & Incident Details:-*
​Acting proactively to curb crime and criminal activities in the area, SI Rajbir, HC Chetan, HC Amit & HC Sombir of PS Mahendra Park was deployed for intensive patrolling. On 13.07.2025, while patrolling in the vicinity, the police team noticed a suspicious person attempting to flee on foot, while a woman was shouting for help. Sensing the urgency of the situation, the police staff immediately swung into action. Displaying alertness and courage, they chased the suspect and successfully apprehended him after a brief pursuit. Meanwhile, the complainant, Bharti W/o Rakesh R/o Sonipat, Haryana, also reached the spot. She informed the police that she had come to Jahangir Puri Metro Station along with her son Rohit. While they were waiting for a bus at Jahangir Puri Bus Stand to return to their village Jhakholi, an unknown person approached her son, snatched his mobile phone, and fled towards Jahangir Puri Metro Station. Upon interrogation, the accused was identified as Sameer @ Asif S/o Nanhay R/o Jahangir Puri, Delhi, Age- 22 years.
In this regard a case vide FIR No. 392/25 U/s 304(2), 317(2) BNS was registered at PS Mahendra Park and investigation was taken up.​

During his sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he was roaming in the area and looking for easy targets to commit snatchings to earn easy money. On verification, accused Sameer is found to be a habitual offender, previously involved in 02 cases of snatching. He started committing crime to earn easy money and maintain lavish life style.

Further efforts are being made to trace his possible involvement in other cases also.
