DESPERATE INTER-STATE CRIMINAL & FUGITIVE IN 05 CASES
OF BURGLARY & ARMS ACT ARRESTED BY SOUTHERN RANGE
● The accused was a Proclaimed Offender (PO) in five criminal cases related to burglary and the Arms Act.
● Involved in over 110 criminal cases across Delhi and Mumbai.
● Operated alone in locked houses/flats to avoid detection and arrest.
● Committed 11 burglaries in Mumbai under the alias Nazir @ Sikander.
INTRODUCTION
In a major breakthrough, the Southern Range (SR) of the Crime Branch, Malviya Nagar, has arrested a notorious inter-state criminal and fugitive, Nizam @ Nazir @ Sikander, aged 38 years, a resident of Jahangirpuri, Delhi. He had been evading arrest and trial in five criminal cases pertaining to burglary and the Arms Act in Delhi for the past year.
CASE BACKGROUND
During an ongoing verification drive of active criminals in Delhi, it was found that Nazir, a habitual burglar operating in both Delhi and Mumbai, was involved in over 110 criminal cases. Cross-verification revealed that he had been declared a Proclaimed Offender (PO) in the following five cases in Delhi:
1. FIR No. 39/2018, u/s 379/454 IPC, PS Kalkaji
2. FIR No. 441/2014, u/s 380/454/411/34 IPC, PS Rajouri Garden
3. FIR No. 755/2018, u/s 25 Arms Act, PS Mangolpuri
4. FIR No. 602/2017, u/s 380/454/34 IPC, PS Maurya Enclave
5. FIR No. 111/2016, u/s 174A IPC, PS Maurya Enclave
OPERATION DETAILS
Under the close supervision of ACP Girish Kaushik, a dedicated team of the Crime Branch led by Inspector Ajit Kumar, including SI Sudhir Yadav, ASIs Ram Kishan, Vijender, Sandeep, and HC Lalit, was tasked with tracing the absconder. After extensive surveillance and intelligence gathering across the Delhi-NCR region, the accused was apprehended from Jahangirpuri, Delhi, on 21.07.2025.
INTERROGATION FINDINGS
During interrogation, the accused Nazim disclosed that he is a 5th-grade school dropout who began his criminal activities in 2008. His first arrest was in a case of preparation for dacoity registered at PS Jahangirpuri. Since then, he has been consistently involved in multiple cases of robbery, burglary, and Arms Act violations.
He typically committed crimes alone to maintain secrecy and avoid sharing the stolen proceeds. To evade arrest in Delhi, he frequently relocated to Mumbai, where he operated mainly in the Malad and Thane areas. In Mumbai, he used the alias Nazir @ Sikander and committed 11 burglaries in locked residential flats.
CRIMINAL HISTORY
Nizam @ Nazir @ Sikander has been linked to more than 110 criminal cases in Delhi and Mumbai. He is currently listed as an Active Bad Character (BC) of PS Jahangirpuri. All concerned authorities have been duly informed of his arrest.
