CASH RS. 31,190/- EARNED BY SELLING BURGLED JEWELLERY AND JEWELRY ARTICLES WEIGHING ABOUT 35 GRAMS RECOVERED.
HOUSE BREAKING TOOLS (ONE IRON ROD & ONE SCREW DRIVER) RECOVERED.
MAIN ACCUSED COULD BE NABBED WITH THE HELP OF CCTV FOOTAGE. HE IS PREVIOUSLY INVOLVED IN 27 CASES OF BURGLARY AND THEFT OF DIFFERENT POLICE STATIONS OF DELHI.
TWO CASES OF BURGLARY OF PS SARAI ROHILLA SOLVED.
BRIEF FACTS:
On 22.05.2025, an online e-FIR No. 80049478/25 u/s 305 BNS, regarding theft was got registered by a lady complainant Ms. A r/o Sarai Basti, Delhi at PS Sarai Rohilla. Subsequently, the statement of complainant was recorded wherein she stated that in the morning of 21.05.25, she had gone to the house of her sister in Burari area after locking her house. In the evening, when she came back, she noticed that the lock of her house was broken and cash Rs. one lac and gold jewelry articles weighing about 100 gms were stolen. Accordingly, the relevant section i.e. 331(3) BNS was also added in above said case and the investigation was taken up.
TEAM & INVESTIGATION:
Keeping in view the gravity of the incident, a dedicated police team led by SI Vijay Maan, comprising ASI Pushkar, HC Sandeep, HC Amit, HC Depak Tyagi, HC Anuj and Ct Rahul was formed, under the close supervision of Inspr. Vikas Rana SHO/PS Sarai Rohilla and guidance of Shri Sushil Kumar, officiating ACP/Sub-Division, Sarai Rohilla, Delhi.
During investigation, the footages of more than 150 CCTV cameras installed at the place of incident and vicinity were checked & analyzed. The secret informers were deployed and local intelligence was also gathered. After the sincere and hard work of the team, a desperate criminal Sagar Mishra, Moti Nagar was zeroed in on the basis of CCTV footage. The CCTV footages were matched with the photos of Sagar Mishra. He was found previously involved in dozens of cases with similar modus operandi in different police stations of Delhi.
Raids were conducted by the police team at his house several times, but he was not found there. Further intensive search of accused was carried out in the local area by showing his photograph to the secret informers. During this search operation, accused Sagar Mishra, age 27 years was traced and arrested from the area of Daya Basti, near Railway Station on 11.07.2025. The house breaking tools were recovered from his possession and cash Rs. 31,190/- received by him after selling the stolen jewelry was also recovered at his instance.
Subsequently, acting upon information provided by accused Sagar Mishra, the receiver of stolen jewellery, identified as Shubham, was also arrested from Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, on July 12, 2025. Approx. 35 gms of burgled gold jewelry were recovered from his house.
INTERROGATION:
During the course of interrogation, accused Sagar Mishra confessed that he had committed the above burglary in the house of the complainant on 21.05.25 during morning hours by breaking lock of the house. He had sold the stolen gold jewelry to his known Shubham for Rs. 2.20 Lacs in three parts, who works as a cleaner in the shops of gold smiths of Raigarpura Karol Bagh area. He had spent most of the cash amount in his fun & frolic as well as for consuming drugs and alcohol etc. However, the remaining money i.e. Rs. 31,190/- was recovered by the police team.
Accused Sagar Mishra also disclosed his involvement in another case of burglary in which he had stolen gold articles from a Flat of same locality in Sarai Basti about two months before and he had sold the burgled gold articles to some unknown passersby. On verification through police station record, a case vide e-FIR No. 80044746/25 dated 07.05.2025 u/s 305 BNS, was found registered at PS Sarai Rohilla and the CCTV footage clips were available in police record. Subsequently, accused Sagar Mishra was also arrested in this case.
During further interrogation, accused Shubham disclosed that he works as a cleaner in goldsmith shops in Karol Bagh, from where he would collect sand mix with gold waste. After filtering it, he would sell the gold to shopkeepers and earn his livelihood through this process.
Further investigation of this case is in progress and efforts are being made to affect the recovery of remaining burgled jewelry and cash.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:
1. Sagar Mishra r/o Inderlok, Delhi, age 27 years. He frequently changed his hideouts. He is an illiterate and addicted to drugs. He was committing crime for the last 08 years. He was previously involved in 27 cases of Burglary and House Theft of different police stations of Delhi.
2. Shubham, r/o Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, age 25 years. He is receiver of stolen/burgled articles. He has studied up to 10th standard and used to work as a cleaner in many jewelry shops in the area of Raigarpura, Karol Bagh, Delhi, but he was not satisfied with his earnings so he indulged in criminal activities to make easy money by receiving and selling the stolen or burgled gold jewelry.
RECOVERY:
1. Cash Rs. 31,190/-
2. Stolen gold articles weighing 35 gms. approx.
3. House Breaking Tools. (One Iron Rod & One Screw driver).
