    COUNTERFEIT BISLERI BOTTLE RACKET BUSTED BY DIU TEAM OF NORTH-WEST DISTRICT
    TWO COUNTERFEITERS NABBED; LARGE QUANTITY OF FAKE BISLERI PACKAGING MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT SEIZED
    ACCUSED INVOLVED IN MANUFACTURING AND SELLING FAKE BISLERI BOTTLES TO EARN ILLEGAL PROFITS.
With the arrest of 02 counterfeiters namely, (1) Sikander S/ o Babulal, R/ O Shakur Pur,  Delhi, Age- 30 Yrs & (2) Asish S/o Sobha Ram R/ o Shakur Pur, Delhi, Age- 19Years, Staff of DIU/North-West solved a Copy Right case registered vide case FIR No. 372/25 dt. 18.6.25, U/s 63/65 Copy Right act PS Subhash Place and recovered water bottles of twenty litres having counterfeit stickers, cap, and barcode of ‘BISLERI’ and heater guns for pasting of stickers on the bottles. The accused person were found to be involved in the manufacturing of counterfeit Bisleri bottle material and were also engaged in placing fake labels and tags of reputed branded companies. They further used these counterfeit materials to sell the products—such as bottled water—in the market, falsely presenting them as genuine items of the respective brands. This illegal activity not only violated trademark laws but also posed a risk to public health and consumer trust.

Investigation & Team:-

A complaint regarding the illegal manufacturing of Bisleri bottle material, affixing of counterfeit labels and tags of reputed brands, and their subsequent sale in the market as genuine products was received from representatives of the concerned brand. Realizing the gravity of the offence, a dedicated team was constituted by DIU/North-West District. The team comprised SI Mohanlal, SI Subba Reddy, SI Devinder, W/SI Preeti and HC Vicky Dabas, and worked under the close supervision of Sh. Vijay Vats, ACP/DIU/North-West. The team was thoroughly briefed and assigned the task of identifying and apprehending the counterfeiters at the earliest.

The team collected all the necessary information and after authenticity of the information, conducted raid at premises in Shakur Pur Delhi & a temporary in Shakur Pur, Delhi and apprehended 02 person namely, (1) Sikender S/ o Babulal, R/ O Shakur Pur, Delhi, Age- 30 Yrs & (2) Asish S/o Sobha Ram R/O Shakur Pur, Delhi, Age- 19 Yrs and recovered water bottles of twenty litres having counterfeit stickers, cap, and barcode of ‘BISLERI’ and heater guns for pasting of stickers on the bottles.
During their sustained interrogation, it was revealed that the illegal unit was jointly operated by both the nabbed accused. They disclosed that the manufacturing unit was established last year and had since been actively engaged in the production of counterfeit Bisleri bottles. Fake labels and tags bearing the 'BISLERI' brand were affixed to these bottles, which were then circulated in the market as genuine products of the concerned company.
Furthermore, it was found that one person namely, Vishal Gupta was involved in conducting illegal boring and supplying water to the accused persons for the manufacturing process. Accordingly, action U/s 5/15 of the Environment Protection Act has been initiated against him at PS Subhash Place.
