CASE OF ROBBERY WITH A TRUCK DRIVER SOLVED BY THE TEAM OF PS TIMARPUR, NORTH DISTRICT, DELHI

    PART OF ROBBED MONEY RS. 1,000/- & AADHAR CARD OF THE VICTIM RECOVERED.
    BOTH THE ACCUSED ARE HARDCORE CRIMINALS HAVING CRIMINAL HISTORY IN SEVERAL CASES.

INCIDENT: 
On 14.07.2025, a PCR call regarding robbery near Indian Oil Petrol Pump, Majnu Ka Tila was received at PS Timarpur. The local police reached the spot i.e. Ring Road, Majnu Ka Tilla in front of Indian Oil Petrol Pump, wherein caller Sh. Anshu Gupta, r/o Industrial Area Badli, Delhi, age 26 years told that he works as a Truck driver. On 14.07.2025, he was coming from Mathura, UP with a loaded truck and going to Badli, Delhi. At around 01:30 AM, when he reached near Indian Oil Petrol Pump, Majnu Ka Tilla, he felt tired, so he parked the vehicle near petrol pump and laid down in the truck. He also opened the door a little to get fresh air. At about 2 AM in the night, two persons opened the side door of his truck and get into his truck. One of them grabbed his neck and another sat on his legs and took out cash Rs. 12,000/- forcefully from the pocket of his half pant and also looted his mobile phone and escaped.

Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 338/25 u/s 309(4)/3(5) BNS dated 14.07.25 was registered at PS Timarpur, Delhi and the investigation was taken up accordingly.  

TEAM, INVESTIGATION & OPERATION:
In order to crack this case of robbery and to nab the accused persons, a dedicated police team led by SI Nitin Tomar, comprising of HC Ajay Dahiya and HC Omprakash was constituted, under the close supervision of Inspr. Praveen Kumar, SHO/PS Timarpur and guidance of Shri Shashikant Gaur, ACP/Sub-Division, Burari, Delhi.

During investigation, the team analysed the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity, both forward and backward, to identify the accused persons. On 16.07.2025, the team member, HC Ajay Dahiya got a secret information that one of the accused persons was roaming in the jungle area of 56 Pahadi Road, Civil Lines. Immediately, a raid was conducted there and one person identified as Chunna @ Yugansh, r/o Civil Lines, Delhi was apprehended in the afternoon of 16.07.25. The part of robbed money Rs. 1,000/- and Aadhar Card of the victim were recovered from his possession. Further, the clothes worn by him at the time of offence were also recovered at his instance.

INTERROGATION:
During the course of interrogation, accused Chunna @ Yugansh disclosed that he along-with his accomplice Sartaj @ Khali had committed the offence of robbery of cash and mobile phone from a truck driver near Indian Oil Petrol Pump, Majnu Ka Tilla during midnight of 14.07.25 while the driver was taking rest in his truck. They distributed the cash Rs. 6000 each and the looted mobile was also taken by his accomplice Sartaj @ Khali.

Subsequently, at the instance of accused Chunna @ Yogansh, multiple raids were conducted at the all possible hideouts of his co-accused Sartaj @ Khali, but he was found absconding. Later, another team of PS Civil Lines apprehended accused Sartaj @ Khali, r/o Civil Lines, Delhi. He is an active criminal of PS Civil Lines and previously involved in 15 cases of robbery, theft etc. of different police stations of Delhi.

Further investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to recover the remaining looted case property.  

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON:  
1.    Chunna @ Yugansh, r/o Civil Lines, Delhi, age 32 years. He is illiterate and works as a labourer. Previously he was found involved in 03 cases of Burglary and NDPS Act of PS Civil Lines, Delhi. He is also a drug addict and committing crime for more than 04 years to earn easy money and fund his daily needs for drugs. 
2.    Sartaj @ Khali, r/o Civil Lines, Delhi, aged 47 years is an active criminal of PS Civil Lines and previously involved in 15 cases of robbery, theft etc. of different police stations.

RECOVERY: 
1.    Part of robbed money Rs. 1000/- and Aadhar Card of the victim. 
2.    Clothes worn by accused at the time of offence.
