▶️ *BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE:*


On 26.05.2025, a PCR call vide DD No. 48 was received at PS Sultanpuri, wherein the caller reported that a café owner, operating near the State Bank of India, B-Block, Sultanpuri, had allegedly collected fingerprints from individuals under the pretext of depositing money into their accounts and had instead fraudulently withdrawn funds from those accounts.

Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 367/25 dated 27.05.2025 under Section 316(5) of the BNS was registered at PS Sultanpuri.

 

⏩️ *TEAM CONSTITUTION:*

A dedicated team comprising SI Anil, HC Sombir, HC  Rajesh led by Inspr. Ravinder Malik, SHO/Sultan Puri and overall supervision of Sh. Rajbir Malik, ACP/Sultan Puri was constituted.


⏩️▶️ *INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION:*

During the enquiry, it was found that a café named "Safe Solution Customer Care" (a customer service provider affiliated with SBI Bank) had been owned by one person, namely Farman, a resident of the Sultanpuri area. Acting on this information, the police team conducted a raid at the identified location and successfully apprehended him.

During interrogation, Farman confessed that he used to obtain individuals’ account numbers under the pretext of depositing money and subsequently used their biometric data to fraudulently withdraw funds from their bank accounts. He further admitted that he had defrauded multiple people using this method.


He also revealed that he had suffered substantial losses in share trading and in an attempt to recover those losses, he began cheating unsuspecting individuals through this fraudulent scheme.

Further investigation revealed that approximately 45 individuals had submitted complaints against him at PS Sultanpuri. The total amount defrauded is estimated to be between Rs. 18 to 20 lacs.

The investigation remains ongoing to identify more victims and to assess the full scope of the fraud.
