55 IAS officers have been suddenly transferred in Tamil Nadu. Not only this, District Collectors and Corporation Commissioners have also been transferred. According to the news, the state government has issued a government order giving new responsibilities to these IAS officers.

The collectors have been transferred to Tirupur, Perambalur, Namakkal, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Trichy, Erode, Chengalpattu and Sivaganga districts. The Tamil Nadu government has said in a press release that Rajendra Rathnu, who returned from the Central Government service, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary, Member Secretary and Managing Director of Chennai River Restoration Trust (CRRT) and Chennai River Transformation Company Limited.

Shilpa Prabhakar Satish (Director, Tourism and Management, Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation) has been appointed as the Secretary of the State, Commercial Tax and Registration Department. At the same time, S. Vijayakumar (Additional Chief Secretary, Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Urban Development Fund (TNUIFSL)) has been transferred to the post of Additional Chief Secretary, Commissioner, Land Reforms.

On the other hand, Dr. M. Vallalar (Commissioner, Welfare and Rehabilitation of Neighbouring Tamils) has been appointed Secretary of the State, Social Reforms Department with additional charge. P Shankar, Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Textbook Corporation has been appointed Secretary of the Higher Education Department. Samayamoorthy, Secretary of Higher Education Department has been appointed Secretary of Human Resource Management Department.(rr)
